am I too emotional and clingy? it seems like every time I get close to some one romantically, he backs off and doesn't like me anymore. am I clingy and emotionally unstable just because I devote a lot of time and energy and heart to "my guys"? I'll admit that I am thin-skinned with insults and take a lot of things personally and that I am very loyal, and I expect loyalty in return.
I can't really find an explanation for why I seem to be the "gay man's Teflon"- no relationship seems to "stick". advice, perspectives, experience?

It depends on your age. As a lesbian I have quite a few male gay friends. It seems like men take a while longer to settle into a LTR than women. But a word advice - make sure you take time to yourself in a realationship. If you devote your entire self to someone else you have nothing left for you. Even when you are in a relationship keep the activities, friends, and hobbies that interest you. When your guy calls you and you are busy - tell him so and that you will call back later. He will get turned on by this far more than you waiting by the phone to hear from him.

That being said, you have to break a lot of eggs to make an omelet. I've never really understood that saying. I only use two...
Anyway, my point is to hang in there, don't invest too much emotion too quickly and try to keep an eye out for behaviors that indicate that your current squeeze has a roving eye. We are men, after all. We're biologically programmed to spread seed as widely as possible.
