I really enjoyed how you wrote your question. Personally I have been fortunate enough to find a woman, not just any woman but my fiance who has both. She has both inner and external beauty and I am proud of each of these. But more importantly she has brains and a mind that she uses. Beauty as you age will realize that it will fade, but brains will remain and with this you can grow. I look forward to sharing our days together as we grow older and communicating with each other in an honest, frank and mature manner. Again thanks for the wise choice of words in your asking of the question.

Generally I think men and women look for partners who are at around the same level beauty wise, the same goes for brains really. You do get exceptions of course, wealthy old men with their trophy wives half their age (Hugh Hefner!).
Still, it's human nature to look for a physically attractive mate, so at a superficial level men will prefer beauty to brains. I think women also value good-looks in a guy, but also a guys status (money) is a big factor (and can be the overriding one).
It'd be cool if all we could see was inner beauty (ever see that movie 'Shallow Hal').

With a brain, any relatively plain-looking woman has the capacity to make most any man believe that she's more attractive than she really is. A brain can also give a woman the added confidence needed to move and speak in any way that's convincing to a man that he's found himself a total fox - given, of course, that men seem to see better than they think. ;)

Well turning it around I'd rather have brains in a man - as an intelligent woman I find someone who can hold a conversation about something intelligent is far more attractive than someone who is clueless.
I don't think all men see better than they think, none of my male friends are with brainless beauties, they're with nice looking, reasonably intelligent women!

Looks are not unimportant but intellect is a necessity.

beauty is nice but can sometimes produce individuals who are boring.
so brains must be the winner . with some sexy attributes gets me .
