How short is short? Usually long dresses are used to accentuate the woman's long legs. If you are say... 5' tall... it might not be as flattering as a short dress. When you are short... try to wear things more form fitting. Things that are overly long or baggy will make you look pudgy. Don't wear heels over 3" with long evening gowns. It will clash with the elegant dress and make you look more promiscuous. If you are going to your sisters wedding... try to wear something that doesn't take away from the bride. It's her day. I would say knee length is good and in a color that fits the occasion. Something with a light floral design would work really well. Maybe even a summer dress.

It depends on when and where your sister is getting married. Afternoon, go with a short. Evening almost requires a long dress.
Outside in a park - short. Indoors at a nice place - long.
As for your height, it's not an issue. There is a whole line of clothing for us shorter people, it's called Petite. Or take it to a seamstress or dry cleaners to get it shortened.

if you're short, go for a knee length dress, otherwise you'll look like you drowning in the dress and that's not attractive, also its easier for you to even pull off a dress that slightly above the knee and you won't look like hooker or trashy at your sister's wedding. The idea and to create a long, lean, look for your body. You want to balance the upper and lower body, therefore since you have shorter legs, you want to make them appear elongated.

i watch alot of WHAT NOT TO WEAR. and over time i learned that if your short, a long dress isnt for you. I wold do an a-line knee length shirt, with a pretty cami and a blazer, its dressing, and can be worn on one ocasion. Also dont use heels use flat dress shoes something with a pointy toe or ballet style shoe. IF its to cold for a skirt/ dress use a nice pair of wide leg trousers and a waist length jacket, avoids pehgetti strap tops use a nice v-neck satin cami.If your dark skined i would recommend white or beige bottoms, and a semi- bright shirt with a darker but not to dark jacket. If your pale skinned wear dark bottoms, a purpley or aqua colour shirt with a light jacket. remember also black shoes are not your only option. and your purse dpesnt have to match your shoes.

Your decision should be based not on your height, but by the level of formality of the occassion. This is not about you, it's about the event. A formal wedding & reception requires a gown. If it's an afternoon in the park sort of wedding, then a gown would be totally out of place.

actual enable the colour and ask your self of the outfits replicate the tone and ritual of the marriage. this is extra significant than the size. except it fairly is a black tie affair, then complete length outfits are not surely mandatory. or perhaps then an exceedingly fancy short gown can nonetheless paintings. additionally evaluate what's going to look perfect on all of the bridesmaids, and ask them what they think of they'd experience extra soft and especially in.
