Conservatives fit nicely into the Republican Party, however, not every Republican is a Conservative. The Political Spectrum looks like this in both parties: Liberal------Moderate-------Conservative and some degrees in between.
Actually, some Liberal Democrats end up on the Conservative Republican side so that they can sway the votes in Congress.

J, it seems that the common denominator all or most Republicans share is that we are philosophically and fiscally conservative. In a nutshell, people of an ideology of strict morality and little governmental invasion into the private lives of the populace generally gravitate to the Republican party. This is not to say that all Republicans are ultra conservatives, or that Democrats are all far-left liberals, but by and large, that is the consensus of the two.

A manufactured term by the media and political hacks to try and stereotype all Republicans as conservatives and all Democrats as liberals. Now I hear congressmen called liberal Republicans or conservative Democrats on the news. The broadcast media only works on sound bites so they like to stereotype. The politicians do it in whatever manner they think will attract voters.

Because Republicans, especially Bush's Administration, have instituted big government policies which isn't a tenet of traditional conservatism.

I dunno but you'd think the Republicans wouldn't keep on having national defecits like they have been during Bush's Presidency. The national debt is outrageous.
