Would that put pressure on Israel to be fair to Lebanon and Palestinians? Jews are great...but it is shocking how Israel behaves and the atrocius way they treat people. What do you think...

We buy avocados and fruits...and anything with "Made in Israel" written inside that people often don't look at.

I am not "a tit" for thinking boycotting stuff doesn't work., nor am I naieve...at least not in this question. I am well aware that my not buying a few bananas is not going to bring world peace. However, if the Israeli fruit and veg market has its European market halved or worse...then those people within Israel will be out of work and pressurising the government form within. That will help a little. At least it gets your voice heard (if you accompany your boycot with a letter explainng it to the Israeli Embassy or the like).

As for the people who are like "What products? We don't know any." Well, it is very easy to find them on thel labels of clothes, of some fruits and raisins...lots of things. You just need to make a little effort...or buy a book from a Fairtrade shop where it is all done for you. People can also write to their MP, their SMP, their MEP, the Israeli Embassy, Tesco, Sainsburies, your daughter's wedding catering firm...to make your stance known.

What's the point of insulting me, those of you who do so? I asked a question in the honest search for your opinions. If I am misguided then maybe you will help me see that, but why say that I "sicken" you...? Also, I did not mention at all whether (I think) Israel is justified or not in self-defence.

On area where I think they are acting very badly is in the current decimation of Lebanese infrastructure. This is not an illusion. It is not unreasonable for me to be disgusted by it. You may or may not agree with their reasons (I did not mention my opinion here) but it is only human to be shocked by what is happening to the Lebanese people.

Thats hard to say for sure.

First, what are some Israeli products? I don't know that I buy any to begin with.

Second, Israel was formed by people who have been persecuted for centuries just for their beliefs. Being pursecuted some more probably won't affect them too much; in fact, it may just increase their solidarity.

Global sanctions need to be put in place and a military force needs to be moved down there to keep the peace. I personally would feel much better if Israel and Hezbollah were forced to disarm and an international force was put in place to defend Israel from incursions. This way Israel wouldn't have the ability to do these things.

I shall continue to buy Israeli goods.Israel is just showing that they have had enough of being attacked from all area's. Israel has a right to live in peace, but its terrorist neighbours are denying them this! I have no problem with Israel what-so-ever.You say Israel treats people in an atrocious manner, are you saying that Palestinian suicide bombers are ok? Or any other terrorist that sends in suicide bombers? Do they treat people GOOD? Is Hezbollah treating people good? They are firing rockets into civilian area's KNOWING IT IS A CIVILIAN AREA,KNOWING THEIR ROCKET SYSTEM HAS NO RELIABLE GUIDANCE SYSTEM? THAT is treating people ok is it? Wake up to reality!! Then you say Jews are great? You are one of those selfish hateful people that think Israel should not exist,so why not just say it,and stop beating around the bush! You are not fooling anyone!

What do you define as fair? Israel took the Gaza Strip from the Palestinians and the Palestinians replied "no land no peace". Israel gave it back and they now use the Gaza Strip to launch rockets at Israel. Israel occupied southern Lebanon and Lebanon complained, after Israel gave it back Hezbollah uses southern Lebanon to launch attacks and rockets into Israel. Do you define fair as Israel must put up with suicide bombers on buses, in restaurants, and cafes? Do you define fair as Israel must allow Hezbollah to operate in Lebanon without the Lebanese government doing anything about the attacks Hezbollah makes against Israel? How do you define fair?

Your lack of understanding sickens me. This is an independent country surrounded by enemies on all sides that kill their population inside their cities. Israel is right to protect its citizens.
Isn't the United States right to protect its citizens as well. Hizbollah is hiding behind children. Why don't they come out and face Israel's army. Don't you think it's atrocious to send 11 year old children strapped with explosives to kill inocent Israelis? The world has to open its eyes and finish the threat that fundamentalist muslims are. They're lunatics, they want to convert the world by force. I say let's make them all martyrs.
Oh yes, and I'm going to continue to buy more and more of Israel's products to show them my support.

I am not Israeli, I am British, but just take a step back a second friend, this state, these Jewish people have had their butts kicked for centuries, for no GOOD reason that i can see, do you NOT think that if you were in their persecuted shoes for some time.. YOU might have got a bit miffed with it by now?

I know i would.

Trying hard to figure out Israels main export. OH yes, diamonds, guns and flowers.

Well that jewel encrusted M-16 is going right back to the shop now!

You are a tit for thinking that sanctions can fix things.

But nice to want to stop them fighting.

It is all rather complicated but i support Israels right to defen itself

Most likely nothing would happen. Remember May 1, 2006 when a lot of businesses closed and a lot of people refused to go to work in support of new immigration reforms favoring illegals? What happened then?NADA....

That's a great idea! In fact I've been doing it for a while. M&S are the biggest importers of Israeli goods. So that's a good starting place.

Yes, it is an idea, but we need more than that.

I know I sound totally crazy, but it's the New World Order.
They want this war to happend, and Bush is comited to it to the bone, like Blair, and Harper. Usa finance Israel to make this war.
