I love dogs. I have 2 of them, one named Dodger and the other Tinkerbell. Dodger is a mixed lab/beagle. We got him free from some people who put an ad in the paper. I had been wanting a golden lab even if it didn't have papers. My wife bought me one for $50, and our foster children at the time named her Tinkerbell.

We have a rabbit. It's a Rex, I believe, he is black and white. He's not a wild rabbit, but he was roaming around the area for about 2 months. My 16 year old niece found. He came right up to her, so she took it home. Her parents wouldn't let her keep it, so I told her to bring it to my place and we'd take him to the Humane Society. Well, my wife and I thought he was too cute to give up. He's really tame, and in about a week, we taught him how to use a litter box, just like a cat. He's great fun. We're pretty happy with him, he doesn't tear up the house too much, pretty clean, as I said, he uses the litter box. Because we rent, we can't have a dog and we live too close to a busy road to have a cat. We named him Thomas, just because I like to give my pets human names.

Ernie is my 6 year old cat. He is bright orange hence the name Ernie (from Sesame Street).

He was a barn cat and all of the other litter was given away but he and his brother that was uncatchable.

My roommate and girlfriend at the time each wanted a cat so in comes Ernie.

Before he was a year old, he somehow broke the ball-joint off of his back leg. It is still a mystery how? Anyway he has cost me alot of Money, but I would not trade him for the world because he is the only friend I can always count on him to be around any time of day!

My pet is a Jack Russell Terrier dog named Redstone Rudy. I got a dog because I had dogs growing up and had been without one for sometime... My husband who had never had a pet as a child wanted to know what it was like to have a pet. I did not name my dog- because he was born to a breeder the pups are given the kennel surname (Redstone) and then a name to be called (my breeder went with all R-names for my dog's litter: Rudy, Randy, Ruby, Roger)- With registered dogs often the full name must be assigned upon birth. The owner is free to call the dog whatever they want but the dog must identified in competition by it's registered name... We could call Rudy: Jack, Rex, Nacho... whatever we want but we stuck with Rudy because it worked for him.

I like Rudy because he is an extremely active, friendly, well socialized personable dog... Rudy is everyone's friend, he is always happy (unless he's got an upset tummy) and he makes me smile with his quirky ways.

Sometimes I think life would be easier without a dog... No walks, no barking, no accidents, or discipline when he jumps up on people... no money spent on dog food, treats or vet bills.... In the end though he's worth any hassle or cost I may incur because of him. His companionship and loyalty are priceless.

one day while doing yard work on a sunny and fair day (although winter) i saw a beagle dog cross our yard. soon a man followed behind her, appearing to try and catch her. i went to assist, and discovered that the man was merely trying to attempt to stop the dog from getting hit on the busy highway that we live near. we took over and said we'd keep the dog safe, called the local police to inform them that we had a stray. meantime...the dog stole our hearts. soon afterward the owner contacted us (we were sooo disappointed! we thought we had a new pet! ) but said she had difficulty keeping the dog confined at home, and being pregnant with her 3rd child didn't feel up to chasing after her all the time. we offered to adopt, and did, and now have one of the most fun loving, loyal, and gorgeous pets we've ever had. her name is abbey, we named her that after having trouble with her akc name of woodstock....just didn't click for us. we had a little trouble with her at 1st, she still liked to run away, that's what beagles like to do best. we got an invisible fence and some training, now we have a great pet that stays safe at home. shortly after we got abbey, we adopted buster. buster is a beagle as well, and spent some time "institutionalized" meaning he spent some time at the pound. he's an older dog (close to 8 yrs. old now) his akc name was bugsy, which we had a little problem with as bugs and dogs shouldn't mix? the name buster suits him well, he's an old "street" dog that can be a little rough around the edges but loving all the same. great pets, those beagles!! we have a lot of fun with them on so many different levels!! pets are good when they have people that care about them, and can care for them. that's my story and don't let my dogs try to tell you anything different.

Well, I wanted a dog, but since we live in a small place since we are in college, my boyfriend said it would probably be better to get a cat. We adopted the little thing because I feel sorry for homeless animals. He is mostly black with four white feet and the longest whiskers I ever seen. We named him Abby first because we thought it was a girl, but when we realized it was a boy we named him Mr. PIB. The PIB stands for Puss in Boots since I loved that character in Shrek and because he has four white 'boots' on his feet. I like the cat most of the time, except when he jumps on my head while I am sleeping or tries to get in the trash.

I got my cat from a next door neighbor, he had a farm with 50 cats and he just picked one out. I had no idea what he was going to look like. He is awesome I would not trade him for anything. His name is Billy and he is a black Tonkinese. I cross between a Siamese and a Burmese. He fetches like a dog and and he supervises all my activities. And sometimes he even puts all his toys back in his basket.

I have a cat, her name is Daisy.
My boyfriend and I were out shopping late one night and we stopped in this pet shop just to look around. (I had been wanting a pet for my new place.) We saw the cutest little kittens ever. This couple was holding two little kittens and said they were only going to get one and they wanted the boy. We held her for a few min and my boyfriend was asking all these cat questions to me (I used to have cats) and one of the workers there. She was cute and fun and beautiful but he had never really liked cats. After staying with her for about 30min or so I told him we should get home. So we walked out of the store and then out to the car. When we got in the car he was talking about the little kitten and how it was sweet and cute. I asked him "I thought you didnt like cats?" He said, "Yeah but she is different." I was about to drive out of the shopping center when he asked me to turn around because he couldnt live with out her.
A few weeks later we named her Daisy because she is all white except for her yellow tail and nose and some on her face.
We love everything about her! She is perfect for us and we couldnt be happier! :)

I got my dog from a rescue group that brings dogs to Petco for adoption.
She was the smallest puppy in the pen. Tiny little dog, tiny little feet, tiny little head, we thought she would be a tiny little adult. They swore she was part chihuahua and would never get over 10 pounds. She had an almost perfect white spot on her forehead so we named her Dott.
Well, she wasn't part chihuahua. She is a Labrador!! Maybe mixed with Pitt Bull. 65 Pounds!!! We absolutely love her. Wouldn't trade her for anything.
She doesn't like to "roll over". We tried to teach her, but all she does in get down on her belly and turn in circles, which I find much more entertaining than "rollover" anyway. The first few times she did it, I nearly wet myself laughing.
