Help with thongs! How can i convince my mom to let me wear them?

Sweetie, wearing a thong is not a big deal and if this is a cheap ploy to get boys to look at you, then it wont work. My advice is to just wait until you get old enough or until you get a job with your own money so you can start wearing thongs. Your mom is right for not letting you wear thongs.

I hate to break it to you, but until you're old enough to have a job and buy your own underwear, you might just have to do as your mom says.

Thongs are great if visible panty lines get you down, but can be downright uncomfortable until you get used to them.

You're not the only teenager who can't wait to wear a thong, though. Can we get more info? WHY is a thong so important?

There is no reason for a 14 year old to be wearing a thong. I saw a 12 year old wearing a thong and I actually fely sorry for her that she didn't have any parental guidance at home. Dont Do It!

The reason she doesn't want you to wear them is because they're sexy. And most mothers - the good ones anyway - don't like to think of their daughters growing up and becoming sexually active, or being sexual creatures at 14. They'll deny it until the cows come home. And everyone knows those cows are gone for good!

So you simply have to convince her that it's nothing more than FASHION, and not a sign that you're about to come home pregnant or with an STD.

If you get good grades or do your best in school, if you obey your parents for the most part, and if you act responsibly, you'll have a better chance of ditching the bikinis. And of course if you don't act boy crazy or hang out with friends who are.

I am a mother of a 14 year old girl......and THERE IS NOTHING SHE COULD SAY THAT WOULD MAKE ME ALLOW HER TO WEAR THONGS!!!!!!!!!! I know you young ladies think you're grown but leave something for you to look forward to in life ...If we (mothers) let you wear thongs, get tattoos, multiple piercings, highlights, when you get to be 16, 18, 21 what will be left? Get some cute cotton boy shorts and thank your mother for setting guidelines

Why do you want to wear them? Are you trying to impress a boy or wanting to show them sticking out of low rise jeans? What is the reasoning for needing to wear them?

I'll bet it is because your friends are............sounds like a good reason to me... I have to agree with your mom on this one. You are 14, there is no reason to wear thong underwear. I am sorry but kids in today's world are dressing way beyond their years, and it only causes problems. So until you can convince me that there is a logical and reasonable explanation of why you need to wear them, I agree with your mom. Please explain your reasoning and then I might change my mind.

A thong is uncomfortable underwear. And at 14 no one should be seeing your underwear but you.

So, why is this important? When you are an adult you can wear whatever you want. In the meantime, don't you have anything more important on your mind.

Get your mom to start wearing them. My mom LOVES thongs. It's actually kinda creepy for me but now my mom is pro-thongs. Also, explain to your mom the pros of wearing thongs.

I dont think your going to win this one. I wouldnt let my 14 year old daughter wear thongs either. Plus they are very uncomfortable. wait a while.
