it's the way you would to 120v switch, since it's a motor load i would recomened you buy a 240v, and rated hp 3way switches *2. there are many diffrent way wiring can be run for a three way switch. if you are runing your wires from a motor to a 1st location of a switch then that wire sould be 2 conuctor (black and white), from the 1st switch location to the 2nd switch location you need to run a 3 conductor (black, white, and red ). remember to buy the correct size of wire.( you size that according to fla rating of the motor) if unsure let sales person know the fla rating and they can help you size the conductor. Splicing step 1, make sure that there the power is off and locked out. step 2, 1st location you have black and white in the box and blk, wh, and red.
1st location 2nd location
red _______________________red
white..................... .blk
wh________________________wh
black+blk
(splice)
____________________________________________________
at the motor box
wh and blk ( neutral and hot ) from source
white and black to the 1st location
1. wh from the source goes to the wh from the motor. if motor has all both of the same coloured conductors the use either one of them.
2. blk from the source goes the white going to 1st location.
3. black from the 1st location goes to the blk wire on the motor.
that sould do it, allways double check ur work before turning the power on.
if shaft of the motor turns in the wrong direction. then reverse the splice of the motor wires at the motor box.

You cant. You need a switch that is rated in the same HP as the motor.
