Surprise her with red roses.

I'd love to be surprised with a mix of white & red though. The white roses are so very beautiful next to the reds.

Actually, I think roses are a little over-rated and cliche. That's why they're so expensive for what they are.

My wife is a florist and she always suggests something different than roses when a guy comes in. Girls like a little creativity and roses are just about as standard as anything (just don't get carnations).

Try something more colorful like Alstromerias, which actually last about twice as long roses anyway. Or go the exotic beauty route and do a bouqet of spider mums, lillies, whatever. There's always tulips too, which are pretty resilient and come in a huge range of colors. They're a pretty flower with a nice fragrance.

So remember, if you're creative go bold and get something different. If you're timid, roses area good standard but won't really win you any style points.

Personally I like the dusky purple ones..a bit off beat and beautiful...but to answer your question why not white with red on the tips....

A White Rose

The red rose whispers of passion
and the white rose beats of love;
Oh, the red rose is a falcon,
and the white rose is a dove.

But I send you a cream white rosebud
with a flush on its petal tips;
for the love that is purest and sweetest
has a kiss of desire on the lips.

Hope that helps....

Depends on the girl and the message you are trying to portray. Some girls don't like roses, some will know the meaning of every color of rose.

If it's your true love, then red roses are probably appropriate - but might not be necessary - my wife likes pansies better than roses.

If you're courting her, decide how serious a message want to send and pick appropriately.

If you're just trying to say "Hi" - why not try Carnations?

depends on the situation. I tend to like pink roses for relationships that are new or trying to start a relationship. I use red for relationships that are more important, have long lasting value. White is pretty much for friends I 'd say. But if your relationship is serious, go with red.

Roses are the flowers of love and with each color rose is a different meaning and feeling. A white rose signifies purity and innocents, whereas a red rose signifies love and passion.

Red roses imply that you're interested in a romantic relationship(if you're not in one with her already). I forget what white roses mean--I do remember that yellow roses signify friendship, though.

Find out what her favorite color is. They make roses in all colors. Red- passion
I personally don't really care. It's the gesture that matters.
