I am very interested about the whole King Arthur age. I believe in spiritual women like her and I think she was misrepresented. I want to know what you think.

No, not at all , and I don't believe it's all legend. The Ancient knowledge was passed down by word of mouth and only those chosen for each craft were taught. The Druids and others were mostly peaceful, as it was their way, the rebels were killed off by the Romans and as they were converted to Catholicism, the times came when they turned upon those who practiced the old ways.
The Mists of Avalon were written as a novel, but was researched very well. The eternal spring exists in Cornwall, England and has been running continuously for as long as the written history of Cornwall, 2,000 years. The ruins of the hillforts and houses there are over 3,000 years old.
The medical and hallucinogenic skills of the ancients were exceptional and in use often produced a type of magic. These arts were practiced for centuries before the birth of Christ and are as much to be believed as any Christian bible.

Mograine, or Morgan, lived and she was not evil. She erred, but was later maligned more than she deserved. Remember in the end, she had done all she could do and it was the end of Avalon.

Read the book "The Mists of Avalon" by Marion Zimmer Bradley. It will give you a much different picture of the women in the story. It is from their perspective, not the men's. Morgaine is not evil at all. She was probably based on the Celtic goddess Morgan (Morganna). When the christians came in to the British Isles they took many of the goddesses as saints, others were demonized. Morgan, being extremely powerful, was one that they decided was evil. Hence, in the christianized story of Arthur she was made into the villainous Morgaine.

I agree with you. She was grossly mis-represented. The saying goes - history is written by the victors. The Christians won the religious war and the story turned to demonize all pagan practice - turning a peaceful nature lover into an evil sorceress. If you feel this way and you have not yet, I strongly suggest you see a movie called "the mists of Avalon". it has a more realistic portrayal of the story.

Probably not. You see, I have this theory that men in general fear women. Women are what they come from, and subconsciously they feel that we can take their existence away from them. So any time there was a woman even slightly close to taking power, or being a role model for women, all sorts of horrible things were made up about them. But of COURSE those things had to be true, because WONDERFUL, CHIVALROUS MEN could never make up such lies, and besides, that woman had to be unnatural.

Either that, or she turned down some guy who just wanted to get in her pants.

I don't actually think she was quite as bad as she was made out to be. I mean, she was horrible to do the stuff she did, but maybe there is something to the story that we don't know. Was it the only way she had out of a terrible situation? Was Arthur unkind to her, even if she was family? Did Merlin do something that made her that way? Was that the only way she knew how to act?

People also say she was his mother, and others say she was married to him and others even say she was his cousin. It is a very interesting topic, but very confusing, you just don't know which tale to belive.
