My advice is to speak to a lawyer and the best, most inexpensive way to do this is through Pre-Paid Legal Services. For more information visit the website below, and feel free to contact me through that site if you have further questions on how this service may be able to help you. I encourage you to find out what your rights and options are in this situation.

I wish you the best of luck.

It looks like since August of 2005 grandparents have had visitation rights which addresses grandparent's rights when the child has lived with them since birth. I'm not an attonrey but it seems to me that you have a good argument for the same rights for a great grandparent, especially if the grandparent(s) couldn't or wouldn't assume the role.

Get yourself a good attorney experienced in grandparents' rights and be warned, if you want to fight the ruling of the court, it will be expensive. Good Luck.

regrettably because their daughter in-regulation used the baby as a weapon. It forced friends of ours, that are Grandparents to head to court and were given, weekend continues to be, 4 hrs on the baby's birthday etc. So sure they could. the relationship between a grandparent and grandchild is deemed by technique of the court to be important.

Well, it is the " show me" state, take all your records and save as many reciepts as you can to show all of the time and effort you have provided. If the judge or commisioner has any sense at all, they should take that into consideration.
I have a grandaughter who is 7 that I haven't seen since she was 2, because her mother is in contempt of court, and we have no grandparent rights in Wisconsin. I sympathize with you, and God Bless!

Parents should be the sole decision makers of who their children see. It is unfortunate, but that is the way it is and should be. The government should not be involved.

You need to speak with your granddaughter alone and get to the root of this problem. I hope for your great-grandson's sake(yours as well) that you get to see him. I can't imagine not allowing my in-laws or my mother to see my kids.

In Missouri our law is that there are GRANDPARENTS rights.Unfortunately this does not cover great-grandparents.
Maybe your grand-daughter will come to her senses and realize she is only hurting the child by not letting him see you.
