My Sister who seems to be blinded by love she is 30, she has not long come out of a violent relationship and in Feb this year she met this man in a night club. She first told us he was French until she told me his surname which did not sound French at all to me.
She then dropped that he was from Algeria, which is an arabic country, the complete opposite to what she usually goes for.
In July she announced that she was engaged. They are due to marry in Jan 2007, she also told me that she does not wnat children at all, he told her as soon as they marry she is coming off the pill and they are to have children, I am now thinking that he will kidnap the kids and take them back to his country or something!
Do you think he is after a british passport.

This sounds very "iffy" to me.
I think that your sister has a lot of questions to ask this man about what his intentions are.
If you are really worried about this, you really should say something to her, sooner rather than later.
Try and find out as much as you can about his life in Algeria and his family and past relationships.
Remember that when you come out of an abusive relationship, ANY positive attention is good. He may be telling your sister what she wants to hear, but be aware of how insecure she may still be from her encounters with her ex.
I'm afraid that to me, it definitely sounds like he wants a passport and children with a dual nationality. That way, he can come and go as he pleases with or without her and any possible babies.
You and your family should definitely air in the side of caution with this man.
Good Luck. Lou x

It's highly possible Id be suspicious about the relationship to, you hear and read about these things all the time. I know someone that happened to -her husband was an Algerian to.
I wonder what he would say or how long this relationship would last, if, your sister insisted on getting married in Algeria and say she wants to live in Algeria permanently with him, maybe then if she stuck to this ruse she may be able to find out more if he using her or not for a British passport.
I believe that, there should be no 'automatic right' to another Nation's passport through marriage alone...let them keep their own, 'country of birth' passport, that's sufficient enough and would maybe put a stop to arranged marriages and marriages of pretence when the underlying reason for them marrying is so someone can obtain a British passport.
Why the hell is it nowadays every Tom, Dick and Harry from all sorts of countries wants a British passport when their own country is alright to live and work in...just out to fleece the British taxpayers and use our NHS etc etc, till it crumbles I guess.

Yes and having children gives him some rights in this country. My husband did the same, not to take the child, but just in case I got a residency order with no visitation rights, with this in place an immediate all ports ban can be initialised should there be a problem. If you want further details e-mail me and I can tell you how to do it.

Maybe he is...but then why think about kidnapping children when she aint even pregnant yet!!!
All I can say is.....if she's happy....let her be....but have a quiet "threatening" word with him...tell him if he messess up...he's gonna be sorry!!!!
