Yes, those are great names because they are interesting.

It depends on if YOU think the name fits the character. Most of the time I will write a lot of the story before I give the character a name because after a certain point the character will sort of name themselves. Give them their personalities first ; What they like and dislike and the names will come to you. Don't start by giving someone a name first off. It may restrict what the character does later in the story.

I like them all except the first names Melinda and Mark. Those names are too dated for middle schoolers. How about Kirsten or Mikayla or Makenna for the girls and Tanner or Ty for boys?

I think it depends on whether or not you're happy with the names.

Unusual names in a story are good, because it gives variation. For example, if all authors called their characters "John Smith" no one would want to read books because it would get too monotonous.

Also, I agree with c3llar_door. If you're going to name you're characters, try figuring out their personaliities, likes and dislike, quirks and phobias first. It can help bring out the right names.

Some of them are okay, but a lot of them are too romance novel-ish. Especially Vivian Frost and Ginger Hammond.

They sound to unnatural, for example I can say i have never met anyone with the same names. Besides Michael Tucker.

These are names that I haven't heard in a long time. I like Ella, Claire and Ginger.

Good luck with your story.

Perfect! You're book will become a Best-Seller! I'm sure. What is the book about? I am also writing a book.....it's called Kidnapped.

Yeah, they fit perfectly for middle schoolers. But you really shouldn't dwell on the names.
