You need a Yahoo 360 page to change your picture. On the 360 page, there is an option to use your avatar and that picture shows the full size picture. Or you can save a full size pic to your computer and upload that to your 360 page. (Make sure the avatar is chosen as the main picture). If you need help with that, you can contact me and I will do my best to help.
After the pic is on the 360 page, go to Yahoo answers and click on your user name. In your profile information, you'll see a link that says "Edit my info". Click on that. In the "picture" section, you can choose to use your 360 picture.
I tried to test this, but there's some sort of bug with my account. I have to upload a picture from my computer if I want to use a full size avatar.

with your avatar you cant but with pics you could, i try to put a vertical pic...
