Babies in the US are at a high demand. If you are not successful in your attempts in the US, then Ukraine has been a great source of adoptions for families. They have too many children to place. I have heard about adoptions from China, but the paper tape there is a lot more difficult, as I understand it. I would seriously investigate Ukraine, particularly if you are Caucasian and want your children to look like you. Not that it matters though.

I would adopt a child from whatever country you lived in. There are plenty of children that need to be adopted from wherever you are from. Being from the USA, I think it would be crazy to adopt a child from another country because 1) there are thousands of children in my own country that need a good home and 2) because of the language barrier that would be hard on the child and the parent 3) that child loses its original culture

You approach the matter in the wrong fashion...it is not shopping. It is a matter of deciding what you can accept. Can you accept a boy/girl...black/white/ Asian...age...and to be fair to the child are you prepared to both learn and share the child's culture and even language. There are numerous beautiful girl babies but few boy babies in China. In America, I was frustrated by several things....they have huge 'catalogs' of kids needing and wanting and needing a home but many have restrictions pending as one or the other of the parents hadn't given up rights and many were handicapped. Many are 6 to 15 years of age and they don't bond well with you and you will have heartache after heartache. I speak from experience. China (I live here) is pretty lax about requirements and if you adopt in GuangDong Province I could give you a hand...as the adoption agencies are not very helpful with paperwork....Godd Luck...but remember your life will change too.

Every country has different laws and restrictions...such as age requirements, # of children you have, etc. You should research each country's laws and requirements to help you decide which country would be the best for you. Do a search for each country's adoption, i.e. search for adoption china/ adoption guatamala, etc... and on most websites they will have a list of the requirements you must meet to adopt from that country. It will help you to see which countries you qualify for and make a decision from there. I hope this helps.

A lot of my friends were adopted from either Korea or China. But just because i've been there and are part o fhteir family u should go to the Philippines. There are a lot of homeless and parentless children there. Good Luck and it's a great thing to decide to adopt becuz a lot of children need homes to go to.

Korea is a great country to adopt from because each baby is placed with a single foster mom that raises them until they get adopted out. This is an awesome system because most countries just have the babies in orphanages, which means they dont get individualized attention. Studies have shown that infants raised with one consistent caregiver (like in Korea) attach much better to their adoptive parents than children raised in an orphanage setting or children who are bounced from home to home. So, Korea would be my suggestion.

Please adopt a child from the US. There are many here that need good homes. Its "trendy" to adopt a foreign child. Plus, a child from Asia with a name like Missy Johnson, just doesn't seem right.

the one you live in. there are countless babies waiting right in your city or state for a loving home. if you really want to be a hero, adopt an older child. most folks want babies, and the older children stay in the foster care system until they're 18. sad, but true.
