Does it really aggrivate you when people hear the word black all they think is: thug, gangsta, playa, drugs, etc.? It really makes me mad and its dissapointing too see our black people being looked down, and being called the "n" word. Its dissapointing to see black people on the streets doing things that they shouldn't be doing. Just tell me what you think, this has been on my mind for a while Holla At Me

You are definitley right! White people wonder ehy they can't say the "N" word but we can! Why would you say anyway! I don't even want my people saying it because it hurtful and brings us years back when the white people calles us that! It's an evil wor but millions black people all over the world think its not! They use it as a way to say hey homeboy or homegirl! A lot of things in our community is messde up and we tend to blame it on the white peeps! Blame it on yourselfs! Blame it on the drugs, alhcohol, bame it on the nude and insulting rap videos they are showing on TV right now! It just seems like black people tries to turn a neggative thing into a positve thing and its wrong! I'm 16 and teens my age go around to have sex at an early age and don't respect their body! Boys nowadays are so disrepecful and to me i think its because of the rap videos and the lyrics! Everything they see and say they want to try it and think thats cool to call a girl a hoe ,slut,***** or other things! If we said all those things to a boy or a man they will see how harsh it feels to be called that name! A lot of young women don't respect theirselves and let boys or who ever take advantage of them and do everything a boy does! Even the ones who respect theirselves get disrespected in many ways! I think a lot of our young people don't care about the past of our people! They don't read about what they've gone through and the pain they have felt! We need to abolish the "N" word because even I don't say it and I don't want anyone to say it to me! All these stereotypes about our people are not true! We just need to grow up and learn what our own people tried to do for us to live a better life! Read more about our culture and understand that other races that siad anything negative about our culture is not true and they just don't want us to get ahead and be strong! People try to bring us down you know but don't let them because we've had accomplished so many things in our lives that a lot of people don't know, especially young people! Just put God in your heart first and if you want to be something,go after it and be the best you can be and only, truly have faith in God and put God first! Don't let the demons of the world distract you! They don't want anything but attention! Wow this was a good question! Thanks for caring so much about our people and trying to get this important message out to the people! Keep your head up! Love you lots! -She'Kia-

Stereotypes are always irritating, especially when people start to view them literally. And what I mean by that is that stereotypes tend to be shaped by people's everyday thought processes. Now, that this shape has been formed it now is part of their paradigm and to get rid of this is another job in itself, b/c of the thoght proceese that they have accquired from everyday life.

As for the n-word, we as black people, have to learn not to use the word. That is a word that has even become cool to our children, the "cool white people", Latino's and Asians. Since we glorify it and have made it a word that is accepted by us then they feel we accept you, so we will accept this word also. And we will use it like you use it and try to fit in with you by accepting it. We have to stop accepting the word and using it as a "term of endearment". We have to stop calling our children "that little *****" or "my little *****". I mean come on, how can we expect them to respect us, when the brightest thing that comes out of our mouths is, gold fronts (those shinny teeth). Look at who is profitting the most off of these, Paul Wall (rapper), need I say more!!

What is really aggravating and disappointing for me it to work hard to get an education, support myself, work hard, and live a life of decency just to be lumped together with a few knucklehead street thugs that act like they have no good sense. Sometimes people automatically cast judgment solely based on skin color.

As sad as that sounds it is not only African Americans that act like that. It is human nature for all races of people to behave in negitive ways. Just because you dont see other races doing as much dirt as another does mean that they are clean. Attention is just brought upon African Americans more often than other races so African American culture kind of have a bad rep to others but really there is nothing wrong.

i feel as if people in generally should really worry about their lives not anyone else because that will only get you angry, and embarrassed, people have to accept life and that means accepting the good with the bad the ugly with the pretty just be the best that you are and all will go well for you, we can not fix anyone else life.
I see things that black people should not be doing, and it makes me feel bad, but I have to remember thats life I know who I am!!!

Yes. I believe that some of our greatest obstacles lie in our own efforts to come to terms with our historical, psychological, and spiritual places in the society in which we live. On every level you will find our people trying to define what is 'black' based on how we view ourselves and how it correlates with the community around us. Real or imagined, we are aware of the caste system that we are given to and the ones that we delegate to ourselves and it remains the duty of all blacks to elevate beyond the stigma of racial prejudice...

if this is such a bad thing then why do white people try to be black on the other hand it took us 100 years to rise up to our position now why take us back 50 years when our parents worked so hard for us to ruin it by being called ***.......

Sorry, U r just aggravating something which is a non entity. Today, the blacks, that is ourselves or myself r supreme. We are on the top. Think of Nelson Mandela. Mahatma Gandhi. Still, if the whites try to screw us, they will be screwd out.O.k.,

i totally agree with you; i think that people should not judge us by the color of our skin and for the ones on the street well i think most of them are like that because they did not have someone to help teach them right from wrong, most black people are the most successful and smart people, that"s why i am black and proud
