I'm 3 1/2 months pregnant and I went through something very similar in the beginning. I had dreams that were terrifying, and more often than not they were dreams that I was trying to fight against some evil force or something (yeah weird I know) or people trying to kill me. I woke up so many nights crying. It was terrible but it seems like that has subsided now (Though I think that might be b/c I don't sleep more than an hour at a time without having to get up to pee) ha ha. Good luck with your pregnancy.

Vivid dreams in pregnancy are very common. Some women have very intense bad dreams, some dream about the baby and some have very errotic dreams! It's all normal.....I think related to the hormones. With #1 I had vivid dreams about holding him and nursing him and looking into his eyes. I had a lot of dreams when expecting baby #2 that were about how to save more than one child if we were in an unsafe situation and having to choose one child over the other. They freaked me out! I think it was when I was PG with her that I also had some rather X-rated dreams about pro-basketball players! LOL! I don't remember a lot of weird dreams with #3, but I'm sure I had some!

It doesn't mean anything except that you're pregnant.

The hormones cause you to have all kinds of wacky dreams. Some will be good, some will be bad, but they don't mean anything usually.

Just enjoy the good ones and block out the bad ones. It's just a natural part of pregnancy. And anyway, once you get as far along as I am, you won't be sleeping much anyhow.

Congrats on your pregnancy though! Good luck!

I am 11 weeks pregnant and having dreams as well. Sometimes bad dreams, sometimes good. I have read that dreaming alot during pregnancy is normal. Your hormones are all over the place!

Hi,

When my sister and friend were pregnant the same thing happened to them. Because of the change in your hormones and the changes to your body you can have weird dreams. The doctor assured both of them that it wasn't anything they should be alarmed about and advised them to relax more throughout the day so their mind isn't so active while they were asleep. After about a month my sister's dreams subsided, and my friend started doing relaxation exercises and never had another one. I hoe this helps.

I have been having a recurring dream that I am going to have twins. Recently I was diagnosed with toxemia and I understand that toxemia can be caused by twin births. To make matters even worse, I am also 48 years old. I can't believe I was even able to get pregnant let alone being pregnant.

Don't put to much stock in your dreams. My doctor says dreams, especially nightmares, are very common in pregnant women. Most of them can be easily explained.

Vivid dreams are very common during pregnancy. I had dreams that baby elephants fell out of me while I was pregnant, and that my baby came out as like a 3 year old. And lots of sex dreams for some reason too. :)

It could be any number of things - but it's probably nothing serious.

More than likely it's a manifestation of something that is bothering you, which may be more subconcious than you realize. Combine that with your bodies wacked out state of hormones due to your pregnancy, and wierd things happen.

2-3 sessions with a therapist or counselor can do wonders for your psyche - you may never figure out what it was, but just the mere fact you worked on it can help.
