There are Frank Lloyd Wright tours in and around the city.
You can go on one of the Wendela architectural tours by river & lake, it's a 90 minute tour that focuses on architecture and it goes right past the new Donald trump building. You can get some fascinating photos on this one, you will be able to get different angles than you can by land.
You can also visit the architectural store across the street from the Art Institute of Chicago. The Art Institute has some tours as well. My cousin, who is a professor in Germany was sent here to study Chicago architecture and he did alot of these tours. He was here for 6 months... so there's alot to see...
Go to the website I've put on here, I have so many books on Chicago architecture it would be so hard to put them all in here.
Definitely see the John Hancock building and the Sears tower as well as the Merchandise Mart and the Wrigley Building, the Tribune building is right there too.
If you go on the river walk, you'll see alot of new buildings, including Trump tower... The Marina towers (corn cobs), The stone container building (I think they changed the name) But this is the one featured in Adventures in Babysitting.
There's sooo much more to say.. but I have to get back to work...

The Chicago River Tour is fascinating. It is eseentially an archetectural tour as it explains all the buildings along the river. It's cool because you are going in between these buildings and its like going through a canyon -- of cool buildings.

They explain the history behind each building.

One tour then goes out on the lake and shows you the whole Chicago skyline -- which is especially nice at night.

There are a number of "ground" tours (busses, etc) but this river tour is the best.

PS -- Just make sure Dave Mathews isn't in town doing a show. His tour bus toilet flushing on to the top of people on one of these boats is now legendary. It was also very costly to the DMBand.

Chicago has an architectural tour bus and, I believe, a boat ride on the river.

I went to Chicago a month ago and the Frank Lloyd Wright tours were great. However don't take the train because you have to go through a bad part of town. Take a cab or drive. The tour was great and you will be amazed. Have fun!
