I was listening to Gnarlz Barkley ("Crazy"), and was thinking how C-Lo sang in falsetto, but then I was, well, maybe he is just a tenor? Same with Phillip Bailey (earth wind and fire), who says he sings in Falsetto, but is Smokey Robinson a tenor or singing in falsetto?

What's the difference?

When singing or speaking in falsetto, only the edges of the vocal cords vibrate. This allows a singer to reach notes higher than his normal range. I don't know about the other singers, but I'm pretty sure Smokey just has a high singing voice.

Heres a fun way to look at it. You know that character that Mike Mcdonald plays on Mad TV called "Stuart"? THAT's falsetto! LOL! and Smokey sings naturally in his range.
