Can anyone tell me what type of companies hire techies with a non-IT academic background?

i know, some companies has some programmer without IT academic background but the are working hard and produce a high-capacity softwares.

I've worked in the programming industry for a long time and I don't know of any companies who look for academic qualifications alone. You need a strong portfolio and experience in the programming industry. Qualifications are strictly secondary.

Anyone who wants to become a programmer should start low in a big company and work their way across to the IT deaprtment and up from there, rather than bothering to study at college or university.

you will proberly have to become a multi language programmer to get a really good job

Java on its own is not enought!
