A healthy snake will shed on a regular basis — generally around once a month. Normal shedding, ecdysis, is a necessary process for growth in snakes and is highly dependent on numerous factors with the most important being good nutrition and proper humidity. As a result, malnutrition and humidity that is too high or too low for your particular species, as well as the presence of mites or skin bacteria, trauma, and too much handling can all result in your snake not shedding properly.

So your snake is a healthy snake. Now feed your pet with its preferred food items.

if his skin came off in one peice do nothing your good to go depending on how much he eats he should shed 3,4,or 5 times a year. If the shed is in peices look at it carefully are all the peices there? Check where the eyes are, are the eye caps shed and finally check the tip or the tail to make sure it came off too. If you think he did'nt shed completly i.e the tail tip/eye cap still on the snake then you can do 2 things to help the easiest thing is to get a pillow case and make it damp, gentley put the snake in the pillow case overnight , they need to be moist to shed this might get the last of the skin off. #2 if this doesn't work then get a very deep bowl/tub and put some air temp water not hot, cold, let your snake have a swimm for a bit he might be nervous at first but you wil find he will start to enjoy. when he is done swimming let him slither through a towel to gently pull of any remaining skin. what kind of snake is it? and how old? I have 2 snakes and they are great pets good luck you can try kingsnake.com for good info on reptiles

There is nothing in particular that you need to do after your snake sheds it's skin. If your snake does not shed all of it's skin but leaves patches, do not pull them off by hand, if you can handle your snake then it is best to soak it in a bath of the correct temperature water or to spray it to soften and loosen the patches of skin. Some snakes defecate a lot afterwards, make sure the area your snake lives in remains in it's usual clean state. Some snakes also drink a lot of water afterwards, make sure there is plenty available. There is a brief section about shedding on the website listed below in my sources.

Check the snake's eyes to make sure it shed the eye caps. If not, you can remove them with tweezers, being very careful not to injure the eye( this is a two man job). Sometimes you can remove the caps using a wet towel. After the shed, most snakes are very hungry, so feed them well.

It became sturdy that you spotted the unshed pores and skin because this can in some circumstances grow to be a health challenge. Soaking the snake in water virtually continuously works in case you employ properly the following tip. fall down up some newspaper to make diverse newspaper balls about the dimensions of golf balls, adequate to cover the bottom of the soaking field. moist them and upload them to the water. There could nevertheless be a small volume of unabsorbed water contained in the bottom of the sphere. in case you are able to keep the temperatures acceptable, you are able to go away the snake in there in one day, yet attempt for no less than some hours. very typically the snake will have the capacity to use the paper because it crawls round to pull off free pores and skin by technique of itself. it is what we choose because that's the least annoying to the snake. notwithstanding, if the floor continues to be there after soaking, you are able to gently restrain the snake and use a moist paper towel, wrapped around the snake, to scrupulously pull off the offending pores and skin.
