Seriously, why did they make like 6 Nightmare on Elm St. films. Like 10 Friday the 13th Films. Like 12 Chirldren of the Corn flicks. About 8 Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies. Now they're making a Saw III and a Grudge 2. WTF!!!????!!!!????!!!!!

MONEY

Sequels to even the most banal and idiotically unscary horror films are cash cows.

Its all about the money. It has always been about the money. See soemtimes this works out just fine. Lets say a movie write just has too many great ideas or the story is just too long, then we do need sequels and trilogies. Look at the Godfather, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars (people will disagree i know). It is valid only when we know the story will span 2 or three movies, not when they do one, then someone else decides to write a part II, then III etc. This is when it all goes to hell.

that's a question that's always been around, no kidding look at all the Batman movies...Alicia Silverwhatever as batgirl pssh! I guess it's just all about money with that industry and they're starting to not care about quality as much.

to get more money
i don't see why it ruins the first film though
its not like they go in and change anything from the first movie - just dont watch the sequels - problem solved
