Israel is bombing Lebanon to the dark ages because citizens of Lebanon (and they might not even all be citizens, just random people in Lebanon) known as Hezbollah kidnapped 2 (yeah just two) Israeli soldiers.

Why Hezbollah kidnapped the soldiers is not completely clear, but they have been fighting against Israel ever since the Arab nations lost the 7 Days War.

The 6 Days War was a war fought shortly after Israel was created. The Arab nations attempted to retake land that was stolen by the western nations. They summarily got their butts handed to them because Israel was backed by the US and friends. In this conflict Israel took more land from the surrounding nations.

Israel was created out of Palestine after WW II in part because of massive guilt on the part of the western countries for not realizing what Hitler was doing in the Holocaust. Another, less talked about reason, was that most European nations didn't really want the Jews around anyway.

Going back further there has always been animosity between the two cultures (Hebrew and Arab) even into Biblical times (BCE).

truth... that's simple: arabs want israel to not exist anyore... period.

sdawg: Israel has been in the middle east for 3300 years dude, so it's not like all the sudden they decided to take land from the arabs and create the state of Israel.
There was a kindom of Israel for thousands of years, but the jews were driven out by the same disgusting muslims that want to drive them into the sea right now.
there should be a big red blinking sign that says "Warning, Warning, Islam doing what it knows best (invading, conquering and oppressing people who don't believe their way) but people prefer to believe all that liberal hogwash about "islam is a religion of peace".

its obvious. the middle eastern countries are mad because in the mid 20th century the western countires, including the U.S., took land from/around palestine and made it into land owned by the jews.
and then when the arabs werent allowed to take it back, isreal was supported in their war against them. so now some of the arab people are still mad and feel a strong grudge towards this

ya.....israel came into being in 1947 on place which was earlier palestine.......

in 1967 arab countries unitidly ATTACKED ISRAEL BUT ISRAEL DEFEATED THEM ALL IN 6 DAY WAR AND OCCUPIED MANY ARAB LANDS.....

IT HAS GIVEN UP MOST BUT NOT WEST BANK AND OTHER ILLEGALLY OCCUPIED LAND VITAL FOR A AN"INDEPENDENT PALESTINIAN STATE".......

ARABS RESENT THIS FACT AND WANT ISRAEL OUT OF THEIR AREA TO END THE DAILY HUMILIATION AND SUFFERING METTED OUT WITH PALESTINIAN PPL .............AND ALSO THEY WANT TO AVENGE THE HUMILIATING DEFEAT IN 1967............

ISRAEL ON THE OTHER HAND CONTINUES TO USE UNNEEDED FORCE AND VIOLATING HUMAN RIGHTS OF PAlestinians.........and daily insults and suffering continues..............

israel should return to 1967 border line called the green line...which is the solution to the problem for ISRAEL =PALESTINE AND WORLS AT LARGE TO EXIST
