How much should I pay a teenager to do lawn work?

Don't pay by the hour or the teen will drag his/her feet. Agree up front on a flat rate per job completed and pay at the end of the job. I would pay whatever you are willing so you don't have to do it yourself. If it's worth 20 bucks then pay that, if it's worth 50, then pay that.

Guess it depends on how much the local lawn services charge. Around here (metro-Detroit area), the standard 1/4 to 1/3 acre yard will cost you $25.00 for cutting, edging, trimming, and blowing the clippings off the driveway/sidewalk if you have a lawn service do it. I'd pay a teenager $15.00 if he/she did all or most of that and $10.00 for cutting only.

Well it depends on the work. For example-

Mowing the lawn- small- 20 dollars
medium-30 dollars
large-40 dollars
Raking leaves- small-10 bucks
medium-20 bucks
large-30 bucks
Stuff like that will work!!!

It depends on the size of your lawn and if you want line trimming and edging included. If it's just a lawn cut for a small lawn $10.

Judge by the job. If it was just mowing, go off of $8/hr. If there was more work involved, bump it up a few bucks. Lawn work is a pain, especially in this heat.

If its a teenager...pay him..what ever you can afford.. atleast he is working, instead of just wasting his time smoking dope or chasing girls... encourage the youngsters.
