We had been talking as friends for a long time... suddenly he stopped talking to me, but when i ask him why he doesnt want to tell me why... waht should i do?

Be considerate of him. He may be going through a rough time, or he may even like you, you never know what could be wrong with him but try not to push him so far and ask him constantly, let him know that you care and only want to help. When he is ready he's sure to open up to you. Just be patient with him.

He could just have things going on that he doesn't feel comfortable telling you about. Just give him some time and maybe he'll come around. If not, wait a few days and ask him again what is going on.
