US support for israel?

Do you think the US's massive funding and overall backing of Israel is due to Israel's use as a strategic military ally in the Middle East or more due to zionist funding of washington's elected officials? As a strategic ally, it does not appear that Israel has proved it worth yet (except for the bombing of iraq's nuclear facilities) and has hurt our international image and overall safety (the spawning of terrorism). OR could it be political contributions and high concentrations of Jews in power in America? I have heard that Jews account for only 2% of the population but have a third of the wealth in America and that 45% of the jews worldwide reside in america. I have not verified this, but if it is true, doesnt it seem pretty obvious why Israel get such an enormous proportion of US foreign aid that is dispersed?

Let's get this straight: im not nazi or muslim and i live in the states. It is fact that the US provides on average 4 billion dollars in aid to Israel, more aid than any other country. Am I a crazy Jihad/Nazi if i want to know why one third of america's foreign aid budget (which is also coincidentally funded by ummm...ME) goes to a country with with .001 of the world's population. I conceded that what i said about the wealth proportion among jews in america wasn't verified, so how about someone actually tell it to like it is with a specific source! Basically, the Israel/Jewish lobby runs the show and determines what will be included in the public discourse. I think that's why America has no problem with dead arabs if thats what is in the interest of Israel. Look at the disproportionate number of deaths on each side and the unilateral UN vetoes the US and Israel make. This will never make mainstream media, and the reason for that is all too clear.

US funding is based on Israel's being able to do our bidding without our taking the blame. Examples: Bombing Osirak nuke facility in Iraq. Fighting Iran's proxy Hezbollah.

Our international image has been hurt more by Iraq than anything else.

Jews account for about 2% of America's population but have only slightly more than that in national wealth. (Nowhere even close to 1/3!). About 5 million of the world's 13 million Jews live in America.

No, its the strong Jewish lobby because of which Bush and Olmert both have made fools of themselves and degraded US in eyes of many nations and people, particularly after their latest Lebanon misadventure. US has lost its diplomatic persuasion with most of the Arab countries. What have they accomplished after killing so many innocent civilians including children ( Israelis and Lebanese ) and devastating a beautiful country ? To ensure an effective defence, which most of the Arab armies are incapable of doing, Lebanon should induct all the Hezbollah fighters into the Lebanese army. If the USA and Israel are close friend, the kind you can depend upon when the crap hits the fan, we would be stupid not to support them.
