My boyfriend's MRI of the lumbar back cost him about $1200.00
It really depends on the area that is to be studied. You also have to figure in the fee for the radiologist to read it (at least $200 or more). It's expensive, but it really can give a much more detailed look at the body. If your doctor has deemed it medically necessary, insurance should cover most (if not all) of it.
