The Golden I have has been alone for 8 months and has been doing well. She's trained and doesn't bite unless you're a hamster treat. But I was wondering about adding another just like her. What's best?

I wouldn't suggest it at this stage, even if they do get along you want your hamster to stay bonded to you rather then another hamster.

Syrian (aka. Golden, Black undergo, Teddy undergo, popular) hamsters, while mature, will combat to the dying no remember what gender they're. What has you perplexed are the Dwarf Hamsters which will from time to time tolerate yet another hamster of the same intercourse. those hamsters are different in that they are somewhat social. reasons why Syrians are housed jointly in the puppy shops are because of fact it saves area and the muddle friends gets alongside effective till they mature and start to mate AND combat. those you notice in the puppy shops are nevertheless immature and in some weeks time will grow to be solitary, territorial animals.

i dont know who these idiots are who responded already but the answer is 100% NO. syrians are loners - they like being alone-in the wild they only get togther to mate then theyre alone again. they are territorial and will end up killing each other if u house them together. no matter if they r related or not NO.

The safest thing to do would be to call a pet store or a vetrinarian. They would know the best thing to do. Good luck
