Don't get me wrong, I love football. It's my favorite sport, however I watch other sports and out of all the contact sports (i.e. American Football, Rugby, Lacrosse, Hockey, Basketball...) Football seems to have the weakest or biggest fakers out of all of them. Players tend to over react on a measly push....while standing still. Others pretend to get elbowed in the face and cover their face with both hands and lay on the ground until medical treatment arrives. All of a sudden in two minutes the medic's magical spray saves the player from a career ending injury. I understand about the deliberate dive rule, but how many times do we see a player get away with an obvious dive? All the time, the referee and his respective linemen can't see everything. Am I the only one who sees Football going down the wrong path?

Football is not supposed to be a contact sport, and all the laws dealing with foul play arise only because contact with the player rather than the ball is inevitable.

But the whole point is to AVOID contact with the opposition whilst retaining possession of the ball.

Theres this book you should read called "Why I love baseball" by Larry King. When your finished with the book come back and say something. Somethings you might find in the book are that football has only one game a week that your favorite team plays in. Footballs best have tried the baseball world and failed miserably. Nobody remembers guys that dont play the major rolls. (QB, WR, HB, CB) In baseball every players has a fan, hundreds. Baseball is played everywhere and football is not. Read the book and then come talking. You'll probably convert to a baseball fan. hahahaha football is not americas sport. I'm American and I do not like football. Americas sport, hahaha look at all the protection they need play the game. Baseball, you just need a ball, a bat and a glove. Plus I think football players receive brain damage when they collide. Who places a question asking someone to make fun of baseball in the baseball lovers section?

It's possible, but you should think that football players play during 90 minutes (2 times of 45 min) and it's not happen in others sports.

In addition, football players are the one that play and run with the legs while in the others sports, they run with their legs and play with the hands; probably, because of it what football players lose in force, they win in skill.

Well, you're comparing football to sports, but that's a mistake. Football is an art form. If you would elbow an actor, painter or poet in the street, they would react similarly. If you would elbow a rugby player, you would react similarly.

I agree that there were way too many dives in the World Cup, but I wouldn't say that they are weak just because they act.
