I have emule and its downloading not more than 5kb/s average and its uploading more than 40kb/s average, can anyone tell me how can i improve the speed of downloading on emule knowing that i have 1MB ADSL Connection ?

eMule is fine. Make sure your are registered on all the networks it says (eDonkey etc. and search on servers too). Your raiting will improve with the number of uploads your provide so that you wont have to wait longer, but still initially it may take some time. Make sure you download from a source which has the maximum number of peers.
I think thif should speed things up.

I hope this isn't for illegal purposes... Try limiting your upload in the settings (the morem you upload the harder it is to connect to peers) and then pick files with a large number of sources to increase your speed. These are the only real things that can be done in emule.
