What is an easy fast way to applique butterflies onto a quilt top?

The easiest and fastest way is to buy iron-on appliques at a sewing or craft store. You can also buy it online, but you don't always get EXACTLY what you want.

If you don't find any good ready-made iron-on appliques, you can get a picture of butterflies you like, and if you have access to an inkjet printer, you could print the designs on either a iron-on transfer or iron-on fabric sheet (like ColorFast). I highly recommend the fabric sheet because it does last longer than just simple transfers which sometimes tend to flake off over time.

Another option, if you don't have inkjet access, is to use butterfly fabric and either a fusible bonding web like stitch witchery, heat 'n bond, or even Wonder Under (this one is preferred by quilters). You cut out the shape that you want from the fabric and the fusible webbing, then iron it on to your top.

*add-on note: There is a laserjet printer transfer option, but printing on laserjet tends to get a bit dodgy... especially since the color doesn't always come out right and you may have to do extra steps.

I would recommend what craftingbookworm said as far as fusible web.

However, I have tried the iron on transfer paper on party favors for my oldest's birthday party and the transfer didn't even last through the party on some of the gifts. It cracked and flaked off. But for the ones that didn't crack, it stayed on quite nicely and is still there even after being washed almost a year later, so perhaps I did something wrong :)

nicely mentioned Ed. appears like a sturdy speedy direction to wealth. I propose, examine literature like the Richest guy in Babylon prosperous Dad, undesirable Dad the two propose that it is not what you earn, yet what you do with what you earn that makes or breaks you financially. After some years up the NW in oil & mining i will see that there are a lot of human beings making very massive money, yet come away with no longer something as a results of their lack of ability to maintain money of their pocket. think of and strengthen prosperous! :)
