yes you will have to get itunes
and limewire
no money to get songs
download songs from limewire
then you drag it from your library to your itunes library
and when you plug in your ipod to the computer run itunes and it should update your ipod after you register your ipod

manual will explain that

I had the same problem too when I got my iPod nano. You have to download iTunes (it's free to download off the website or if you have Windows XP it's already installed.) You also need to be the computer administrator. Then you go into iTunes, and follow these instructions.

Click on file, import, then go into shared documents, click on music, click on limewire, and then click on the song you want to import. It can only import one song at a time as far as I know.

When it's done you plug your iPod into a USB 2.0 port (you should have at least two on your hard drive.) It will download automatically from your iTunes library.

getting itunes is recommened. you just drag and drop the music into the itunes library and plug your nano in. if the file don't work, right click on them and say conver selection for ipod. watch out when using limewire though, you may be fined 750$.

Just open Itunes. Drag the file to Library. Left-click the file and select 'Convert selection to AAC'. After the conversion, a similar file would be reproduced. Left-click that file, select Copy. Go to 'Ipod' or whatever XYZ Ipod label, and paste it there. Hope it helps!
