LMAO!
Wow, nice to kow people get just as worked up as I do.
Just to point out a couple of things, I am overweight, and in the process of losing the extra. I've lost 40 pounds in the last 6 months, so yes, I know what it's like.
I didn't like how I looked, but instead of just complaining, I took action.
Next, I said SOME fat people, not all.
And last, big gurls......you look great! Keep up the good work!
LMFAO.......continue......

I'm a big girl, but I like to think of myself as PHAT :) Of course I'm fat and happy. Sure, I imagine a lot of overweight people would like to lose weight. I would myself. While there are some that fit the description you described above... there are many others that are overweight because of medical conditions. Some heavy people have medical conditions that complicate dieting. There was a question here sometime back about trying to lose weight and having diabetes and I forget what other physical ailment. This person was desperate to get the weight off, but felt hopeless because of the conflicts of disease and dieting. I have to agree with you though regarding the people who CAN do something about it but don't. They need to stop complaining and either do something about it or be happy with who they are.

I'm not skinny by any means, but not fat either. I agree with you that if people are complaining about their weight, they should at least attempt to do something about it, but I don't appreciate your use of the word fat. That is rude and obnoxious. Do kids these days not use proper etiquette anymore? It's not fat. Try overweight or obese. Now some people have heath reasons and other issues and that is why they are overweight. And you'd be surprised how many overweight people have a harder time getting the weight off. I had a friend that was 450 and had tried everything he could since he was little to keep the weight off. He couldn't get more than 10lbs off at a time, and that was over a 6 month period. He tried everything. He finally resorted to Gastric bypass. He now weighs about 175. He looks great and feels better about himself, but still gets mad when people use the word fat. Oh and by the way, you could do without the curse words. If you want to get into how a person talks, I'd rather talk to someone or be seen with someone who was sweet and nice and weighed 500lbs then be around someone who is beautiful and skinny but has a mouth like yours. That's uglier than anyone who has issues with their weight. I hope you learn proper manners and etiquette. Good luck and God Bless.

have you ever been overweight? have you ever had to deal with trying to lose weight? somehow I doubt it, or you would be more sensitive to this. I myself am overweight, and I try to watch what I eat every single day. I'm not sitting around pounding back burgers and fries everyday either. You should really get to know someone who is trying to lose weight and see how difficult it really is. It isn't just as easy as putting down the burger. If you would actually have to deal with it, you would not be so rude. Don't judge a person until you've walked a mile in their shoes. Some people are overweight for other reasons than just over eating. There are handicaps, medical problems, heredity, depression, etc.... Don't be such a jerk! If you are so concerned about it, then do something about it. Help someone! You just may change (or save) their lives!

It's pretty complicated if we really think about it. There are personailty flaws and weaknesses that most of us have in one form or another that display themselves in various ways. I'm not saying we can't change them, but it's not easy. The world is full of rehabs and programs based on that point. I'm not over weight, but I do love women. When ever I get emotionally close to one, I want to go to bed with her, and have. What's the big deal? I'm married. Well, sort of married now, as you can guess with my behavior my wife and I are not together right now. I love my wife then I even know how to tell you, but I still cheated.
My next stop was counceling to find out if I was just an *** or was it something deeper. What I learned was that the personality traits and flaws can lead us many places. Drugs, drinking, gambling, adultery, over eating or any other compulsive behavior. The worst ones are the ones that are not against the law. Why are they bad? Because no one wants to help a person that's not in one of the popular stumble and falls like drugs. It's much easier for people to just condemn the bevavior but not help. There are fund raisers and clinics for drunks and drug addicted people. Real organizations for help and that's a wonderful thing.
Back to the fat people. They have a personality flaw that lead them to over eat. They can over come it yes, but there is no real help other then the open market of diet fads and weight loss businesses that don't deal with why they over ate, the clinical diet just gets treated.
So yes, in a way you are right, but cut some slack. It's harder then you may think. Digging to the reason why is not as easy as observing the results.

What about the people who are ill and as a result gain weight due to their medications? To them it was a choice of live and be fat, or die and they chose to live. Not all people who are overweight eat fast food or eat unhealthy foods.
You have obviously never been overweight or else you would realize just how hard it is for a person to lose weight. The weight didn't go on over night and its a long fight just to lose the weight and keep it off. I am overweight but rarely (maybe once every two years) do I eat fast food. I take in roughly 700 calories per day and I am trying to lose the weight.
At the same time you need to realize that there are people with thyroid disorders which force them to gain weight (no this isn't an excuse for people who are overweight, thyroid problems can cause you to gain weight, ask your doctor if you need proof). Not to mention there are people who have a slow metabolism.
You also need to factor in genetics. Your genes decide how your body handles weight, your metabolism and tons of other weight factors.
I think the next time before you complain about things like this, perhaps a little research is in order?

you are right in a way and in another you are very rude.
I also think people should stop crying about their weight and should start going to the gym work out and eat healthy. I see people order everything at McDonald's on the Menu and order a diet coke. To all you Big people that do so, let me tell you .....IT'S NOT WORKING. Stop stuffing your face with Burgers, don't try to squeeze your car in the smallest parking space just because it is right in front of the door of a store you are going to, park in the next row, walk a minute or two more than you do now and you all will live a better live. Being over weight is a curse I think and not everyone can just loose it as easily as others can. But to al you that are trying GOOD LUCK

In some cases easier said than done. Burgers & fries in themselves don't make you fat, it's how much & how often consumed, conceited b**ch. Take the time to check out info & learn some facts, other than the ones you want to latch onto, about people & weight problems. Should they stop eating because you think you know what their problems are?
Many people have weight problems that they can't beat, whether it's after giving birth or health problem etc. Not all is food related.

Although I'm not fat, I finally realized that I can't judge those who are. We all have some problem/issue here; those who are fat just have the symptoms of their problems shown clearly. Those of us who find fault with them would do well to work on ourselves and determine what it is in us that causes us to feel this way -- if we're stubborn or unwilling to do that, maybe we can then understand why others would find it difficult to address their problems whose symptoms manifest in weight gain.

It is not that easy. You don't just stop eating, you have to have a special diet and excercise every day which is hard for people who work 40 hours or more a week. And getting off junk food isn't as easy as saying it. You become addicted just as with drugs and cigarattes. They have a craving, a need to feel full.

For many, food is an addiction just like alcohol or drugs. The difference is, not only is it incredibly available, but also necessary to live, (unlike alcohol or drugs). A food addict, much like a drug addict, knows that there is a problem, but doesn't know how to stop it or feels like they can't. Food also becomes a crutch. When they are down on themselves, even over being fat, they rely on it to make them feel better. Why not try showing a little sympathy rather than adding to their psychological problems by reminding them how worthless they are in your eyes.
