No one is right. They are both fighting from an historical stance to prevent a political process from going forward until each feels they have the upper hand. Needless to say there cannot be peace in the Middle East until supporters of both (in arms, finance and political support) sit down and develop a rational and humane agenda.

Okay...Israel and Lebanon are not the ones fighting. Lebanon just happens to be the country where Hezbollah (supposedly) a terrorist organization has it's headquarters. Israel is fighting Hezbollah because Hezbollah kidnapped two Israeli soldiers. Now, that's what started this latest conflict. But to understand it fully you have to realize that the reason Hezbollah even exists is due to the fact that it is comprised mostly of Palestinian arabs who have no homeland now b/c Israel has pushed them out of their homeland. So, where Lebanon comes in, is that they have been forced to provide a home for Hezbollah. Lebanon is basically innocent in this and is taking huge losses due to the IDF's constant bombardment of that country. So, in my opinion, Israel is in the wrong.

I am afraid it is not a simple answer. I am bias for I am pro Israel even though I am not Jewish. If the Lebanese government could get their act together and get control of their country, the problem would not go away but be lessened. We really need to destroy all terrorist groups until that is done the Middle East will remain a mess. I have a feeling in the years to come there is going to be a religious war with everyone against the Muslims. This is sad but true.

Lebanon is not completely wrong because it was a terrorist organization (Hezbollah) inside Lebanon that attacked Israel. Israel needs to open the flood gates and stop messing around. Syria should be next and then head to Iran.
This moment was bound to happen sooner or later. Let them get it over with.

well you really have to look at the surroundings. The muslims are blaming Isreal however hezbollah started it all by the kidnappings. All Isreal wants is peace. We keep saying that we want to help muslims, islam is not about peace, if you read the quran it states to kill anyone that is not muslim. They hate the U.S and Isreal for being prosperous in the democracy. If you go back with some research in the 1800's Isreal bought the land from Arabs since it was nothing but desert, but when the jews cultivated it , they wanted it back, Isreal gave up land so peace could be sustained. In fact they were supposed to get some of Jordan, I bet you all did not know that. Then they gave land back to Arabs saying fine if you want take it but they destroyed their homes so the arabs will start from scratch. They were jealous with the fact that Isreal knows how to prosper. When people are saying Isreal is killing innocent people that is not true. hezbolla hides behind civilians so it will make jews look bad. this is a spiritual warfare that many cannot see that they do not want peace until they reign the world. If islam is so peaceful then why is Iranian president calling for destruction to Isreal and us to be wiped off the globe.Such irony. The jews gave and gave land that was theirs so everyone could be happy. The Arabs received more money from us than anyone and because of their leaders they use funding for military than to help build economies, yet they blame us for their situation. Arab countries need to be held accountable for their actions. did you know arabs own most of the media so you will see things they only want you to see. I have experienced it in Iraq when I went. THe spin is making Isreal look bad. But Lebanon had over six years to rid of hebollah which was in un resolution 1559 yet they still have not done so. they ,must be accountable for allowing such groups create such havoc. Isreal gave cicilians notice that they will be bombed if they did not leave then they must be with hezbollah , better yet they force them to stay so innocent lives will be lost just to make them look good.

Youre going to have to make up your own mind on this one Im affriad.
You can either see through all the Pro-Isreal BS or throught the Pro-Hezbolla BS. It really up to you which side you should believe. Both sides are wrong and Lebanon is caught in the middle and made to suffer.
You have to remember that Hezbolla and Lebanon are seperate entities.
Just dont be misguided but the anti semites on BOTH sides (and yes - Jews can be anti-semitic too - look up the meaning of the word and the people it reffers to) -

hezbollah attached because isreali men and tanks were on lebanese soil they took the two hostages and killed the other men because they were on lebanese soil but do you think that isreal has the right to wipe out a part of the city and kill inocent lives, make people homeless for two hostages? have you seen the pictures of what has happened in lebanon? have you seen the dead bodies from there attacks? this is personal because my uncles home and work and his wifes work is gone so now they have nowhere to go and nowhere to work i was in lebanon and people are scared, in my house there used to be 6 people we had over 20 people in a 4 bedroom apartment and some people think isreal has the right to do all this to kill all these people for two hostages that were on lebanese soil?

Lets first address how the current situation began 3 weeks ago:
BUT FOR Hezbollah going on Israeli soil, killing 8 and kidnapping 2 Israeli soldiers, Israel would not be on the offensive to destory Hezbollah. This is not a war on Lebanon. It is a war on Hezbollah and its backers (Syria and Iran). Since the Lebanese army that numbers about 150,000 soldiers is unwilling and/or unable to remove Hezbollah's 5,000 terrorists, Israel will.
Israel wants peace and recognition of its existence. The Muslim extremists, including Syria and Iran regimes want Israel wiped off the face of the earth, and have repeatedly said so. Israel has absolutely no interest in claiming Lebanon, or any other Arab country.
The Muslim world has missed every opportunity to make peace with Israel. When a Muslim country and brave leader did make peace with Israel (the late Egyptian President Anwar al-Sadat), he was assassinated by Iranian-backed group.
Furthermore, the Israel-Palestinian conflict has never been about a state for the Palestinians. There has never been any biblical, historical, or factual basis for a Palestinian state. Between 1948 and 1967, when Gaza was under Egyptian rule, and Judea and Sumeria (including East Jerusalem) was under Jordanian rule, NEVER ONCE was there an effort to create a Palestinian state. It was only after Israel reunited Jerusalem after winning the war in 1967, that the Arabs were up in arms. All this time they thought that they could crush Israel, and the trouble will be done; they could stop Israel from re-establishing its kingdom (a sovereignty that IS backed by biblical, historical, and factual basis).
To the credit of the Palestinian PR/propoganda machine, they have convinced the world to create something out of nothing, with absolutely no basis to do so. All this time, people in Israel have been naive in believing that the Palestinians genuinely do want peace, and would do anything it can to rid its people of the terrorist element. We clearly see that this is not going to happen. Israel is certainly to blame for sitting on the fence rather than being proactive in its PR to the world.
Those who believe that once a Palestinian state will be created, education of hate by the PA Authority would stop; systematic preaching of hatred of Israel, Israelis, Jews, the Western world and culture would stop; terrorism would stop; suicide bombers would stop; are living a fantasy.
The Palestinians and the rest of the Muslim world (with the exception of Turkey) prove it time and time again; they never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity. The continued terrorism against Israel is not going to stop; not now; not any time in the next several generations UNTIL systematic change in the Muslim mind and culture would, by miracle (yet to happen), occurs.
Lebanon is a very weak country that has been controlled for a few decades by Syria and Iran. Their last prime minister, Harriri, was assassinated for opposing Syrian occupation.
The situation over there is tragic, but it is Lebanon's fault for not protecting itself and exercising its sovereign right against a militia, a terrorist group in control of parts of its country.
Unfortunately for the Lebanese civilians, Hezbollah embeds itself, and launches rockets within residential areas. Israel has warned in advance to allow people to leave, but Hezbollah uses many civilians as human shield. Israel tries as best as possible to avoid killing civilians, while Hezbollah and other terrorist groups are intentionally targeting Israeli civilians, and only apologize if they killed Arab-Israeli civilians.
Syria is re-supplying Hezbollah with rockets, and that the Israeli Air Force is only striking resupplies when it passes into Lebanon (unfortunately, not 100% of the supply is destroyed in time by Israel...at least, no YET).
I don't know about you, but when you hear a leader of a regime (Iran) inciting hate and claiming his intentions, he and his regime must be taken out (if the world would have done so with Hitler, there would not have been a Holocaust or WWII).
It is time for the Muslim world to take some accountability and handle its exterme element that is numbered in the millions of people.
For those who believe that the extremist element in Islam is small, the numbers are staggering. There are 1.2 billion Muslims in this world. Lets take a very liberal view that only a very small percentage of Muslims are exterme, while the rest of the Muslim world is very peaceful. So if only 10% of Muslims have extreme point of views, and may be a threat, and must be dealt with, meaning dealing with 120 million Muslims! How about 1%? Then you must deal with 12 million Muslims. How about 1/10 of a percent? Then you must deal with 1.2 million Muslims. The numbers are staggering! How do you propose dealing with even the "very low" figures of 1.2 million Muslim extremists?
This is a grave and dangerous situation, but it has to and will be dealt with. Whether by global support or only by Israel. Israel has no choice but to destroy Hezbollah.
Deal with Hezbollah, Hamas, Syria and Iran, and you shall have peace in the Middle East. The extremist element of Islam MUST BE and WILL BE dealt with. So it is written, so it shall be.

first of all : don't use wiekepedia to know anything connecting to israel, because it is all written by them and from their point of view
1- the relationship between Lebanon and Israel :
throughout the israeli/arab conflict and their wars 1948 , 1956 , 1967 , Lebanon was neutral and didnt join arabs
at the 1967 war israel took all of the territories Palestinians live in , all of palastine , so about a million refugee were fled to the nearest country jordan , and took with them the palastinian resistance PLO , where the king of jordan (pro israel and a well know spy to them) fought those palastinians in his country and expel them from jordan so they went to south lebanon 1971
they kept fighting from there as skirmishing , where most of their operations failed , because they lack experience , modern weapons , everything ...
by 1973 egypt and syria made the joint attack of yom kybour war to regain their own occupied territories by israel , lebanon didnt join this war too .
a big war and chaos between lebaneese and each others erupted in the mid seventies , israel encouraged that war , made an insider army by a lebaneese colonel (saad hadad) who was an israeli poppet
by 1974, the general assembly of the united nations considered the PLO as the only legal representative to the palastinians ,and for the undeniable rights to the people of palastine
when that war ends , and after the peace treaty between egypt and israel 1979 , israel suddenly attacked Lebanon 1982 , invaded it to vanish the PLO , and they reached the capital Beirut , and forced the PLO (after killing hundreds as usual) to leave lebanon in ships to Tunis in north africa who accepted to take them to there , and that was the fourth chapter of the tragedy of the palastinian people whom their bad luck , made their land as the choosen land to be taken and given to the jews to istablish a state for them
Now the threat is over , and Israel should now pull back to it's borders .
no , they didn't , but they kept all of south lebanon occupied with the israeli army , and a resistance showed , muslim lebaneese freedom fighters against them , (before that no lebaneese was fighting israel) that resistance called " the lebaneese islamic resistance - hezbollah"
and year by year it become stronger , recieved aid from many countries who are not under direct pressure of USA or Israel , like iran and syria , and of course lebanon
"Hezbollah" is a political party has some members in Lebanon parliament. Also, they have military branch found by Lebanese militias for defense their country against Israel.
They have right to defense their country against Israel barbarism.
The most of parties in Lebanon including, Lebanon government are supporting "Hezbollah" as well.
Actually, "Hezbollah" is only resistance against Israel invading.
after 22 years of resistance hezbollah succeeded in kicking israel out of lebanon , but israel insist to keep the lebaneese "shebaa farms" so hezbollah didnt disarm yet
the skirmishing was going on for the past 6 years between them , until the kidnapping of the 2 soldiers to trade with the lebaneese and thousands of palastinian prisoners from years in the israeli prisons
2- how that all started now?
As I said the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah didn't finish , at least because Israel still insist to siege the lebaneese shebaa farms , and after the Israeli cruel punishment to palastine , Hezbollah engaged by that operation in the Israeli soil , the kidnapped the soldier to trade with another war prisoners kidnapped too in Israel , and other thousands of palastinians , all of them kidnapped to the Israeli prisons where they have been tortured .. so the story is not as it is puplished by the jewish Israeli controlled media , as if Israel was a peaceful country , asleep inside it's borders , and attacked by a gang of terrorists who kidnapped a little girl to rape her … but Israel used this to wage a big war to destroy Lebanon , end any resistance left (Hezbollah) and punish Lebanon for defeating it in the year 2000
3- the action
Hezbollah showed an unexpected strenght , but Lebanon payed the price : 1000 deads , 90% of them civilians , half them children , 10000 injured , 145 bridge destroyed , all the infrastructure destroid , one million became homeless
hezbollah hiding among civilians , israel target only hezbollah , israel warned before shooting . all those stupid ideas are wrong , israel hit 1000s of tons , so where are hezbollah casualties? very few compared to the civilians , israel warned ..etc if that was right , what kept those warned civilians from hiding , do they like to die ? you belive that?
Any way go to this to know more, not an arab propaganda , it is an article from the independent british paper by Robert Fisk , read it to know much :
