You're joking right? We are the lesser of the intelligent! We'd be stupid to think we were th only ones out there and even more stupid to think we were the smarter ones!

With the tremendous number of solar systems in the universe and the many planets in those solar systems, it is very naive to consider us the only life form. The chances are great that other intelligent lifeforms exist that are equal to, or better than us.

Could be. With an infinite number of planets, it is more than likely there are more with life. Why should we be the most advanced? Actually, it would make me quite sad if we were the brightest spark in the Universe...

Absolutely! Consider this... every night you look up into the sky and see those thousands of stars... consider there are millions of billions you can't see. And around every one of those stars in another potential dozen planets revolving around them... just like ours. Considering our sun is one of the youngest stars in our solar system alone (by younger, we're talking millions of years), one would have to ignorant to NOT think life is evolving right now in a few million places at a minimum!
