The AVG Virus valt is empty then it just means that AVG hasn't caught any viruses and moved them to the virus vault (since the last time you emptied the virus vault). If you have any reason to suspect viruses on your computer then do a full scan.

Correct.

The virus vault is only used when AVG finds an infected file it can not delete because it is currently in use. It will move that file to the vault so your computer will not longer run it. So once a file is in the vault, it can not longer infect your computer. The next time you reboot, the file will no longer be in use and can be deleted from the vault.

I have AVG.I have about 15+ viruses in my vault. They are there because I did not erase them yet.You should do a virus scan and see if your computer has a virus. That is the only way you can retrieve them.I do this about once a week.AVG does not at all retrieve the viruses automatically.
