I would be certain that the water pickup has a shield to prevent small fish from being sucked into the filter.

The more air the better. It keeps your tank water fresh and full of oxygen. Small fish need just as much air as large fish.

it may be bad or it may not be. it's possible, but i'm not sure how likely, that the tumult can cause swim bladder problems. i have some stagnant water fish so i have my filter is surrounded by tall plants that prevent the current from spreading across the water's surface as much.

Shouldn't be a problem, if you're concerned to to an aquarium supplies shop and purchase a small valve which will fit on your air tubing - they usually costs a few cents, then you'll be able to control the rate of bubbles.

Mine is strong too and my fish love to swim in it and have it push them down. So your water filter is fine.
