NO. Since the liberal demoncrats hate the USA, we need a close getaway for them so they can enjoy the prosperities of Communism, making $15/week.

Enjoy, libturds!

They might be poor NOW, but if communism falls after Castro dies, there will be a huge influx of Cuban exiles who were successful in the US going back. If they reinstate the laws they had pre-Castro, you can be sure that the gambling corporations will be there pronto as well. Those corporations will NOT want Cuba to join the US in any capacity, because they will want to operate casinos without US Gaming rules. Besides, Cubans under 50 or so have been taught to hate us their whole lives, and while many Cubans seek to escape, many are good Communists as well. The last thing they'll want to do is join the US.

No I dont think that will happen. What will happen if the USA and Cuba ever normalize relations is a flood of investment money will come from the USA and Cuba will become THE place to go in the Caribbean. The people who control things in Cuba will become very rich and the average person may be able to make a little more money but still remain fairly poor.

Already 51 was Afghanistan, 52 is Iraq - Do you notice the love of people in these countries towards US!
Still impressed you may count for 53 rd with Cuba.....
Then 33% of the US population will be seen as war veterans & handicapped.
Why can't they add countries like Mainmar (Burma) & Mindanaoh islands in Philipines also!!!
We the people of other parts of this globe, will also feel so happy to see the stars & stipes flying all over!!!!!
God bless you all for expanding US map !!!!!

Cuba is a nation. Why should they want to join with a country surrounded by people that dislike them, wars, domestic problems, disputes over stupid issues (WTC after how many years), a declining economy, devaluation of currency on the international market, race problems, illegal immigrants, joblessness, a major budget deficit, sky-rocketing medical costs, a failing educational system, an overloaded welfare system, a failing social security system, a top-heavy government structure, and pollution......would you like to be our 51st state?

The Cuban people (those living on the Island NOT the "exiles in Miami") should be allowed to dictate their fate.

no, i think the u.s will try to bring democracy to the counrty, but i don't think that they would want to claim it as a state. without fidel, cuba can grow and be strong alone, like how it was before fidel took over. however, afer fidel is gone, his brother raul will take over, but he will never be able ot fill in his brothers shoes quite like his brother did. many also say that raul is a drunk, and is probably gay. he wouldn't be able to rule cuba, and if he does, it won't be for long, because he is almost fidels age.

It would be better for the USA to take it over and end Fidel Castro's dictatorship once and for all.
