izod shirts with the collars turned up, sweaters with a logo on the chest (like poli shirts, but the most popular ones had horses on them) worn with an oxford shirt underneath and a silk scarf tied in a bow; BIG hair (what with the advent of mousse!); in junior high - clogs with real wooden heels that we used to polish with pledge, candies spiked-heel sandals (which are back!); zip-up marled knit sweaters with hoods. Pet rocks. Watching music videos (MTV was new, and they actually showed music videos)

In elementary school, clear back in the 1980's/early 90's, it was all about neon colors and Ninja Turtles. In junior high, it was all about Girbaud (sp?) jeans. In high school, it was all about preppy, expensive clothes and backpacks (I look back at what I spent to "fit in" and laugh--what a ridiculous way to spend money), and having the nice car and a cell phone. It wasn't until I was graduating from college that iPods hit the scene. I'm feeling old already and I'm only 25.

When I was in grade school, we all bought bubble gum with cards from " The Monkees" and tried to get all the pieces to a poster, although I never saw one completed.
In Jr. High, it was getting a P.O.W. bracelet from Vietnam vets,
and in High school it was wrapping angora yarn around your boyfriend's ring, so it would fit and girls would comb the fuzz on their rings almost as often as they combed their hair.
Ahh, the good old days!
