Its worth having a look at where the cable fixes to the bonnet pull lever. Try gripping it with vise grips and pulling it. If its definitely broken, Can you get at the grille. I had this happen on an Astra and i managed to get the grille off with a bit of manouvering and i was able to manually open the catch from here.

I have never had any experiance with a fiat, but I did have that to happen on a crystler one time, I layed on my back and looked up from the bottom in front of the radiator, I could see the latch and there was enough room to reach up with my hand and pop the latch open. I don't know if this will work on your car or not. Good luck.

I can only suggest lying underneath the car and reaching up to the bonnet catch to pull and release the broken cable. I'm not familiar with the model so I don't know how easy it is to reach.

Take a pair of locking plyers and lock them on the cable after the break and give it a good pull.

unusual for a snapped cable on one of these, normally the release lever just pulls away from its mounting.
can you see if the break is in the car, if so get pliers on it.

A plastic picnic knife should cut through the hood no problem.
