The only guidelines I've ever heard about applying here are either underlining or using italics. If it's a handwritten assignment, it's typical to underline. If it's a typed assignment, the proper way to do it is to italicize the book titles. I have never heard anything about using a bigger font OR putting it in bold. I would think neither one a good choice unless your teacher has specified that as his/her preference.
Book titles are italicized or underlined. NEVER use quotation marks with book titles.
Article titles, newspaper articles, book chapters, essays, short stories, songs, poems, (smaller parts of a whole) are put in quotations.

The title of a book is underlined and, if possible, put in bold face. If you can't do the bold face and underline, just do the underline.
Quotation marks are reserved for quotes.
Things that you want to separate from text that are neither book titles nor quotes, can be placed in the single quotes (looks like an apostrophe) to differentiate them.
Hope this helps.

I continually underline, even inspite of the incontrovertible fact that i've got additionally seen it achieved with italics. the reason I underline is because of fact in college i grew to become into an english important and all of my profs needed essays achieved utilising MLA citations. In MLA you underline titles. Now it is in basic terms a rigidity of habit. i can not say what's meant for use for different varieties of citations because of fact, different than for one first year task on the different varieties, i've got not had to apply them and characteristic thoroughly forgotten approximately them, ha ha ha.

Do you mean in an essay or works cited/bibliograpy? it depends if you're using MLA or APA format. If your instructor requires no specific format, you can either underline or italicize the title of the book. You can also use qoutation marks but be consistent.

If you are typing it I think it is supposed to be in 14 point bold in the center page.
But if you are in say grade school and you are writing it in. I think it should be underlined.
