where did the polar bear come from?

i lost season 1 sawyer shot a polar bear where did it come from. in season 2 kate saw a horse where did it come from and where did it go????

no one knows. that'll probably be explained in season 3.

The Polar Bear is a Canine... just like a dog... so it probably evolved from some kind of bear or similar source and came from Asia over the land bridge. The white coat would just have evolved as camoflage just as other creatures have evolved for the same reason The horse was native to North America, then died out a million years or so ago and was re-introduced by the Spanish when they came to the new world.

im pretty sure that walt did something to bring the polar bear there, and about the horse: kate saw that horse when she was running from the cops or sometimes like that. i think that it freaked her out and when she saw it again on the island, she thought it was a sign.

but i love the fact that locke was wrong about the islkand "bringing them all here for a reason".

Walt dreamed up the polar bear in his head and brought it to life. I'm still not sure about the horse, but Walt def is the source of the bear

The Hanso Foundation who were responsible for the hatch's and the experiments were also doing experiments on animals. My guess that the bear and horse were really on the island, escaped from the experiments that were abandoned.
