Well, I didn't know why until i read the book. He actually has a name in there, and believe it or not it's ERIK. That is soo unfitting, dont you think?

In the movie they never mention the Phatom's name. He's always referred to as "The Phantom". If you read the book by Gaston Leroux it says that the Phantom's name is Erik. I too had seen the movie before I read the book and also didn't know why people were calling him Erik.

The Phantom's name is Erik, they just don't say that in the movie. If you read the book by Gaston Leroux, you will find that Erik is his name.

For a dramatic video, Spiderman would work well, considering he also has a mask that his love interest eventually removes. For something on the sillier side, Wile E. Coyote could work due to his love of explosives and effects that Erik shares. Even the Grinch could work.

Because that is his name. Read the book by Gaston Leroux, which is the basis of the musical, and you'll see that.

Maybe that's the actor's name. I'm not sure.
Like the way people call Hermione from Harry Potter 'Emma Watson'. Annoying, isn't it?
