Tyson was definitely whacked, though looking back it seems normal for how disturbed he is.

How about the first ever televised Daytona 500? Last lap, the two leaders, Bobby Allison and Cale Yarborough wreck, handing the win to Richard Petty. However, the win is overshadowed by the fight that breaks out when Donnie Allison joins in with hsi brother to beat up Yarborough, who fights back surprisingly well. Most of America built the 'redneck' image of NASCAR from that incident, and it hasn't changed too much since.

The other bizarre one was when that baseball player took a bat to one of the 'sausages' running on field at a Brewers game. He just leaned up out of the dugout and took out someone in a costume, who turned out to be a girl! This was worse than Tyson becuase the guy is not a certifiable lunatic, so it was totally unexpected and out of character. Can't remember the player's name. I suppose he could blame it on the roid rage.

Wide receiver, Joe Horn, of the New Orleans Saints took TD celebrations to a new level with his staged end zone cell phone call during a game against the New York Giants. Before the game, Joe Horn hid a cell phone under the padding used to protect the goal post in the end zone. After scoring one of his four TDs during the game, Joe Horn retrieved the phone and made a call to his kids to celebrate. The NFL doesn't have much of a sense of humor or appreciation for players celebrating after touchdowns. The fun police at the NFL penalized the Saints 15 yards and fined Joe Horn $30,000. The league also made him write, "I will not use my cell phone during games" 100 times.
