Guess you must have associated with one with it so much or watched too many TV programmes by people with that accent or you may have admired and immitated it while growing up.

It depends on where you were born and who helped teach you to talk. The southern drawl, actually, has a lot in common with a British accent as they share several vowel sounds. So, it is not very surprising that you may have this mix. If you don’t like your accent, you can take classes to get rid of it. I am an actress and had a horrible accent and speaking habits which went away with training.

Well maybe you have been around british people or you british enheritance in your family. and the southern accent is maybe cause you have lived in the south or you have visited the south which can also influence your southern accent. It may not be just in your head it can be those examples I just gave.

That's a gift. I wish I could do that. I want to get rid of my accent. Been here in Canada for the last 12 years of my life and still have my accent.

Have you spent much time with people with these accents? Some people's accents change with the people they spend time with.

You probably jsut learned a couple of things that made yo useem more british, like using a glottal stop to pronounce double T's, so "bahl" isntead of bot-tle
