As mentioned in other answers, there are several different types of conjunctivitis (pink eye). You can cannot self-diagnose which type you have, so please get to the eye doctor as quickly as possible. Again, every type but allergic pink eye is HIGHLY contagious. You need to wash your hands with warm, soapy water for at least 10-15 seconds every single time you touch your face. You should also have a specific towel/washrag just for you that no one else touches.

I just had it last week and went to the doctor's. He put me on an antiobiotic eye drops until it's all gone. I suggest you see the doctor for pink eye, as it's contagious the first 24-48 hours. With the eye drops, you'll notice a big difference in pain on the first day.

You have to go to your doctor and he will prescribe either eye drops or ointment for it. You really need to go. It is easily cleared up but left alone it can cause serious eye trouble. It is also very contagious. When you clean the affected eye you shouldn't use that cloth on your other eye. Daycares and schools won't let students come in with it because it's so highly contagious. So, go see your doctor.

I have had Chamomile Tea work very well for pink eye. Make sure it is prepared with boiling water and very strong. Put it on a clean cloth and place the cloth over the eyes (do not put the tea in your eye!). When the cloth cools, rewet it and do it again. I have personally got rid of pink eye in 24 hours doing this without using prescription eyedrops.

Antibiotic drops if it is that type of pink eye. There is also allergic conjunctivitis which is treated with aleergy eye drops and allergy meds. Get to the doctor before you spread it to the other eye or someone else. Use very good handwashing technique.

Medication that is available from a doctor. Pink eye is highly contagious and if you don't have it treated you will end up with pink eye in the other eye, too.

Go to the doctor and get anti-biotic eye drops. Refusal to treat properly will result in both eyes being infected, and everyone in your house and possible work catching it from you. It is highly contagious. Seek proper treatment from a qualified professional.

Pink Eye (conjunctivitis) can be either Bacterial or Viral. If it is viral, antibiotics will not help. If it is Bacterial, antibiotic drops or cream will help. Either way...you need to make sure the affected person washes their hands & tries to not touch their eyes.

You can wash your eyes with Baby Shampoo. Itwont hurt & will hep you keep the icky stuff out.
