I believe people make mistakes. But as the saying goes:

"Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice shame on me"

Good people do NOT make THIS mistake. There is no excuse for cheating on someone. Period. So, YES; Once a cheater, ALWAYS a cheater.

No,I don't believe in it,and unless people know all the facts they will continue to say this. People do make mistakes and many do bc of something their other is doing, even if it is only their thoughts that their S/O is cheating or meeting others. Some do make poor choices and haven't and wouldn't ever cheat again. It's easy to say that phrase, but it is not true. Not everyone who cheats will repeat it again. Not everyone who cheats is caught or admits it. The numbers would probably shock everyone. Cheating is wrong, and there isn't a reason that makes it right. Still people do make mistakes and they are the ones who have to live with themselves and the guilt of the one they hurt and the hurt they brought themselves. They risk losing everything that is truly important to them.

Once a cheater, ALWAYS a cheater.

It is the easy way out instead of working on the relationship.

Folks need to take the blinders off and look at the real world......

I believe in this because it happened to me. I was with a cheater once. He fooled me once, shame on him, then he fooled me again, shame on me.

I'm single and not looking for cheaters, any takers? :p

I do believe the saying, and yes people do make one time mistakes, but the idea can always be there.

There are sooooo many factors to consider, it's really difficult to say.
Just the fact that someone made a mistake doesn't mean they will repeat that mistake.
But you're right about the saying.

George Bush used that line as a reason for starting the War in Iraq.

I'd like to believe that everyone can change, but that isn't reality. If someone cheats on you, they simply don't care ENOUGH about you, no matter how convincing and sincere they may seem afterwords. Get out! Find another! Time will heal all!!! :)

yes it is a phrase and more true than not. but so is the fact that of those who get caught or admit to cheating another 3rd atleast cheat physically, 65% cheat emotionally ( female term for anything a man does she doesn't like ;o) seriously, if youre truly in love you do give 2nd even 3rd chances. the point will come to bear, that you know you dont want to give them chances anymore. but in actuality you dont want to be abused or in love with them. love is biological response, in love is a decision.
