One of my best friends is currently in Spain doing a one year course in business. She is there with another friend of hers from her previous university. At the moment they are touring across Europe and I saw her pics and I feel so jealous.
I got married last year and am in North America, currently waiting for my paperwork so that I can start working. I haven't been on any holidays or shopping - haven't treated myself to a spa or had any luxuries since I got married and I feel so bitter. I am currently trying to lose weight and have joined a gym. I am trying to go from a UK size 14 to a size10. I know it's not impossible but it's proving very difficult.

I look at my friends pictures and think that a couple of years ago that was me having fun with my other single friends, travelling etc. Now I feel that I have no identity. It's only when I see her pics I feel like this.

Otherwise I am happily married, I love my husband and we have a great relationship.

You want to tour Europe. Don't blame your spouse. Try to both meet your spouses interests and make time to go on a trip and do "single" type activities. Discuss the options with your spouse. Discuss your longing. Jealousy arises when there is a perception that 2 things cannot co-exist. Often it can be disabled by trying to do the "parts" of each thing that CAN co-exist.

Yeh, I've been in a realtionship and now I'm out. Things were great when we were together, we had intimacy, we were happy etc etc. But I wanted to see how it was being single again. Now that I'm single, I want it back. It's always like that, grass greener on the other side and all. There are good and bad things to both sides, you just have to make the most of it.

Yes, I know how that is. Mind you, I was envious of my married friends going to exciting places and being treated nicely. The thing is, you are down on yourself right now for how you look, and seeing your old friends having a wonderful time, well, yes that can hurt. How about doing something nice for yourself, either with a girlfriend or your husband, or hey, even by yourself. It sounds like you're overdue for a treat.

your identity is with you and your husband, yes its fun to travel and run the streets for what ever turns you on, but a few years back it was your husband, what is he now chop liver,
let your friends enjoy Europe and what ever else they prefer, you have something they envy in you and that's your marriage, so what if your a little on the heavy side, does it affect how your husband looks feels touches or what ever he does to show his love, does he turn away, well then get on with the marriage and enjoy the time you have with him, and stop fantasizing about the past
