People who get paid and don't deliver. In the end, either eBay or PayPal has come to the rescue. But that's only because I'm naturally suspicious and when in doubt offer to go to the seller and collect the goods in person and pay cash. I made that offer to a furniture seller in the north of Scotland, never heard back; but somebody in Holland e-mailed me via eBay to ask whether there wasn't something funny about an underbidder offer he'd gotten from the Scottish seller.

I e-mailed eBay and forwarded a message they sent me to all the other bidders, but never heard back.

Two or three times I've received goods that were not as advertised (indeed, advertised as perfect were broken and mended). Twice I complained and got refunds. The third time I just gave the dress (mis-sized at the factory, auctioned as the labeled size) away.

I will never pay on an unsecured basis more than I can afford to lose. It mystifies me that people by real estate and cars on eBay without going to see the goods first. Or that they fall for the Nigerian 419 scams (overpaying with a dud certified check or a forged US Postal (or WalMart) money order -- and wire the overpayment to Nigeria via Western Union.)

Once I ordered a study guide for the Praxis I and bought it with "Buy It Now" along with expedited shipping because, well... I needed it "Now". First of all, I received the shipment about 2 weeks later and then when I opened it it was the wrong book. Apparently the guy had mixed up his books, so I then had to ship the book I received to the correct person and finally after she received the correct one she sent mine. It took about a month. I was p-oed. Other than that, my experiences have all been pretty good.

(a) i never received a gift card i purchased, and paypal only issued me a $20 refund, so i was out $30 extra. i filed a complaint through paypal, but it was never resolved. i should mention this was last year. just this last week, my account was "suspended" for "unresolved conflicts." i was the BUYER who filed the complaint, and they suspended my account, requesting a tracking number. they still havent gotten back to me either.
(b) back when I was a teen, many years ago, I fell for one of those scams of "buy my info for $50 and I'll show you how to get a $1500 olympus camera for $50." it ended up being a likn to a pyramid scheme, and a couple of weeks later the guy disappears, so i never got my money.
(c) I bought tickets to meet and greet with Dave Matthews Band. The girl and I were supposed to meet up outside of the venue in New York, but she never showed. She apologized later but didn't give me a refund, so I filed a complaint. Thing is, AFTER the concert, she mailed the tickets with a tracking number, so she had proof i received them (eventually, when they were no good!) So paypal ruled in her favor and I didn't get my money back.

I'm never doing business with eBay again.

I won an auction and never received the item. I started getting emails from random people asking me if I wanted to join a lawsuit to sue the person who was scamming.

I never pursued it, I figured they needed the money pretty badly to scam people on ebay.

Probably should have.

This motorcycle shop in Florida(He knows who) never shipped my chrome grab rail. By the time I reported him to ebay it was too late, so the next time I go to the biker's rally, I plan to have his azz kicked...I know where the store is...

I bought a straw purse, in the picture it was hanging from a doorknob and it looked really cute, when i got it ...it was horribly made the straps were bent and would never straighten out..the purse looked really cheap...that is why it was hanging from the doorknob because the straps would be a giveaway that the purse was made from cheap materials.

A seller took my money, did not deliver goods even after he said he would. It was only $23.00, but he disappeared from eBay. Thieving a**hole!
