Mario would definitely win although superman would have him on the run but Mario would cry for Luigi's help who would then bring a mass army of toads

Superman has NATURAL powers. Mario needs powerups.
Superman needs a secret identity. Everone knows Mario and loves him.
Superman has no super-friends. Mario has Luigi, Yoshi, etc.
Superman is fit. Mario can jump but he's is fat.
Superman is a hero. Mario is a hero and a friend.
Superman = good movies, good comics, bad games.
Mario = bad movies, bad comics, good games
Superman has weaknessess. Mario has none.

Superman, hence the name man of steel and with the description of indestructable, but mario could win if he happened to have a stick of kryptonite.

Mario!
Simply because when Mario dies you get to come back to life with him and try and try and try again. Superman doesn't get a second chance.
Also, Mario can put on his cap of Iron, so he's indestructable. Then his invisible cap and his flying cap and Superman's had it.

Id say mario with his racoon suit.
